September 6, 20196 yr I just have noticed (yes, I know, I know...) that UTX is now officially supported by F1 and I would like to combine it with ORBX products. ORBX is good for textures, coast/river lines, but UTX provides the best road network and night lighting. Would appreciate if someone provides a hint how to deal with it. September 6, 20196 yr I did this very long time ago. There are some hooks which UTX uses that makes use of their GEX:P3D product. Something in the default building autogen etc. It was something that I noticed and never got a direct answer b/c UTX truly works 100% with GEX-P3D. Bottom line: They both are rival companies each would want their product work with their own. I was never going to buy GEX-P3D and UTX only covers few continents - they have nothing like global vector. Forgot does UTX layer come below global layer or above. All you have to do is install global + UTX and it should work. There were threads on this a while back ago. September 6, 20196 yr And I would appreciate if ORBX would consider to improve Vector, rather than developing airports in already super congested areas 😉 - Harry 9800x3D (Strix x870e-E) - 64GB RAM (DDR5 6000, CL 30) - RTX 5090, 34'' 1440p OLED HDR - Windows 11 Pro (1TB M.2) - MSFS 2024 (MS Store, 4TB M.2).

September 6, 20196 yr V2 of Vector will probably eventually happen. I can assume after openLC Asia/Africa is done. Maybe there will be announcement next year. My UTX has been collecting dust all these years. I have zero plans to ever install it as openLC-NA works perfect with Orbx products. Lets see what MSFS 2020 brings How I Evaluate Third Party Sim Addon Developers Refined P3Dv5.0 HF2 Settings Part1 (has MaddogX) and older thread Part 2 (has PMDG 747)
September 6, 20196 yr I use FTX Global and OpenLC NA/EU together with UTX. It's a bit tricky, as both FTX and UTX make changes to the terrain.cfg. UTX is well-behaved and leaves the Orbx entries alone. FTX Central is not similarly well-behaved, and it removes the UTX entries. I have a post-FTX Central "recovery" protocol that I run after any use of FTX Central, and as part of that I run each of the UTX config programs (US, EU, and CAN), and do a quick disable followed by a quick enable to force UTX to re-write its terrain.cfg entries after FTX Central has unceremoniously removed them. In P3D Addon Manager I have the UTX landclass placed below the Orbx LC so that the OpenLC landclass takes priority in those areas where it exists. I don't use Vector, so I have no idea what the complexities of turning off its roads completely would entail, if that's possible at all. September 6, 20196 yr The Vector menu allows to disable highways, primary, secondary, tertiary roads. My philosphy is that life is too short to try to mix the OrbX Global range including Vector and UTX. Now that Allen is working with OrbX I hope we'll see his inputs in a future version of Vector, if any. Trust me UTX works well with GEX-P3D (they have hooks which call data from both). This is like opening MS Excel file in Mac Pages - sure it will kinda work but you know it is not fully 100% and is going to miss features To the op - please share your pics when you get your UTX working well with Global. It would be great to see the pics. It has been years since I did that. I think I managed to get it working during Prepar3d 1.4 or v2 days; if memory recalls correctly.
