I just checked their website a last minute booking from France to Orlando are going for just over $3000, they have no reason to offer a discount to customers of a former competitor, also travel insurance should reimburse you if you took that out, so Delta isn't going to discount people when they should be making insurance claims. If you didn't get travel insurance they aren't really going to help you out for that either as the industry is all about insuring your travel. Unfortunate but the US Carriers are very business oriented, its annoying Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me

I have to assume that the outrage in public media sort of forced their hands... No, only after they heard we (virgin) had agreed to fly home thomas cooks passengers and staff (as well as offering them jobs) did the muppets from waterside begin to help. I suppose they got enough on their hands after 300,000 passengers had their travel plans ruined by their silly strike 2 weeks ago. Edited September 25, 20196 yr by fluffyflops

And travel insurance covers the loss of the original ticket but not the cost differential on the replacement. I see. I guess that any flight crew who do accept Virgin's employment offer would lose any seniority they had already accumulated while at TC, right? Fr. At the bottom, they should just be grateful to have a job. Over the last 5 to 10 years at virgin there has had huge changes (brought on by delta) that has seen redundancies, changes of job titles, reapplying for your own again and reshuffles. Any pilot that walks in and thinks they can be a douchebag like at BA is wrong. We don't really have career f/os holding up commands for others like at BA. It's a flat 10 years to command, we all get on well, everyone is happy, we get treated well and it's a happy, trendy, sassy, positive company. Everything BA is not. If they think they are coming here and can become a Nigel they are wrong. Like the ex midland guys at BA. Edited September 27, 20196 yr by fluffyflops

I understand the economic forces at work there. This has been a really great trip and I’m not going to let the Thomas Cook fiasco ruin it. We’re traveling with another couple and between the four of us we have visited 123 countries over the years. But in all that time and all those trips none of us had ever visited Germany. That is why we have been here the whole month. And what a beautiful country it is...wow.
