Hi Pete,

Fair points. Although I don't have multiple screens so wouldn't benefit from those type of changes will help others. Looking forward to meeting @simbol for a chat about Ai. I'm thinking about disabling 05R EGCC for landings as it's so far to the first exit even other Ai 3-4 miles behind are performing go-arounds.  Not good.

I think the main problem at EGCCs 05R is that most ai ac are landing with much too low speed (105-110 KIAS). Combined with a very short braking distance and a slow taxi speed they don't make it to the first exit in a reasonable time.

I've increased my AIG airplanes landing speed (most of them originally from FAIB). I also increased the breaking distance by lowering the reverse thrust and increased the taxi speed to 25 knots. With all this tweaks my ai traffic on ground is now more fluid, though still not suitable for every situation. I've not yet tested at EGCC.

Make sure your stand has some biscuits and I could end up spending quite a bit of time there. 😁 Look forward to meeting you too Christopher. 👍

@Nemo, I’ve already tweaked some AIG Ai to help performance with braking but the danger is any changes might work at one airport but not at others. 05R is not your typical runway layout.

I’m still using AiController which does allow for changes to taxi speeds but it’s still fraught with problems. I’ll be interested to hear how your settings cope with 05R, EGCC.

Ok,

Here is my experience with HF2 so far.

FT KBOS, crossing runways techniques implemented.  RNWy 9 is closed for landings and open for take-offs with RNWy 27 set visa versa. The AI are still continuing to land on RNW 9.

PS. Perhaps this trick works for a pair of parallel runways only and KBOS 9/27 does not have a "pair"

Have you examined the AFD using ADE and checked each end of the runway has the correct values set? Or are you using a utility supplied by FlyTampa?

Lucky me using PSXT + RT so open/closed runways are of no importance.

For all of you using regular Traffic packages it sure is a step forward.

Sure I did. I have built dozens of cross-winds runways ADE files myself over the course of 7 years.

Understood. But what are the winds and what other runways are available for landing aircraft. Difficult to get the full picture with only partial info. To answer your other point there's no rule about these restrictions only applying to runway pairs.

4L is active for take-offs for AI not heavier than 321/739, 4L for landings and t/o for heavier birds, 15 for both t/o and landings.
