Remember when trackIR came out? Well shucks....I guess someone ought to let the U.S. Airforce know https://www.airforcetimes.com/news/your-air-force/2018/09/30/the-air-force-is-revolutionizing-the-way-airmen-learn-to-be-aviators/ The poll was presented with what feature you would like added the most. Everyone has their own preference and the right to make their one vote. There is little point in trying to tell someone else that their highest priority is "wrong". We all have our preferences and the opportunity to support that preference with a vote Edited October 4, 20196 yr by BrettT

VR is immersive...but not realistic Sitting in front of two or three monitors (with TrackIR set up) where, when you move your head to the side you have to keep your eyes on the monitors in front isn't remotely realistic either. Nor is having fixed monitors where the view doesn't change if you move your angle of view. Your controls might be realistic for the single aircraft that you've built a cockpit for. Any time you're fly anything other than that aircraft, they're not realistic either.

VR is for gamers not simmer's and from what I've seen and heard MSFT is building fs 2020 with simmer's in mind first...not gamers.

If one builds a cockpit with FS 2020 it will be as real as it gets...add motion and wow.

That everyone should sell their VR headset, find a spare room in their house, $15,000, and build a full motion simulator? Or that MS shouldn't prioritise VR because people can always just spend several thousand dollars on sim hardware?

A 787 with a Cessna-style throttles? A TBM-900 with a 737 cockpit, or vice-versa? With VR I have access to all those cockpits virtually and, yes, there is tactical feedback for the switches. All of that for a fraction of the cost of a single G1000 panel. I would never fly a 747 with my Cessna sim...that is something a gamer would do. 🙂

October 4, 20196 yr I'm sure MSFT will add VR to the Xbox version for newbies/gamers who just want to point and fly around to find their house.

Simmer's take simming very seriously and do not refer to the hobby as gaming. Simmer's can sit for an hour or more waiting for the next leg of a flight. Actually the enjoyment in simming is those times...when you're not actually flying but monitoring your instruments. A gamer gets enjoyment from doing barrel rolls.
