It’s a great point.. I’d be just fine with MS/Asobo building the framework to support great third party add-ons to really make ATC shine. It’s likely that a really in-depth and accurate ATC system is really high on the expenditure (time and money) scale and honestly may not be worth it for the first party to fully tackle. They are in the business to make money not to "benefit" everyone. So the priority of features like ATC, VR and Seasons will probably be determined based on the resources necessary and the expected return they could expect in market share as a result. I would suspect ATC would probably be the least on the priority list just due to the admitted difficulty of it and the fact that there really isn't any real competition in that field (i.e. none of the other players really do a very good job of it now anyways). Seasons is kind of a tricky one in that do you want to do it "right" or do you want to "fake" it with shaders etc. Even the shaders solution might be tricky considering you are talking about a Global scale. Of the three VR s probably the lowest hanging fruit with the biggest benefit. Typically VR users are either all in or not interested based on if the title supports VR. On the other hand, lack of seasons or good ATC at the onset is not likely to be a deal breaker for the 2D crowd. Even if VR users only account for 10% that is still a decent amount of share and at the same time probably makes the younger crowd more interested (especially if MS starts marketing VR headsets to work with their new console coming out in 2020 I believe). For what it is worth I would like to see all three included.

VR is a feature that, if one wants it, will keep many from even purchasing MSFS at all until it’s implemented. For non VR people to understand this, imagine a scenario. Suppose that MSFS wasn’t sure if “joysticks would be supported at launch”, just as an example. See what I mean? You’d likely wait until they were because you’d have ZERO desire to try to fly with the keyboard or a mouse or something.
