VR Inclusion in MSFS

🤫 They are, apparently unknown to them, they are helping to inflate this thread. But I hope we can change some of their minds. VR is awesome in flightsims.  Resistance if futile...

No need to break our backs trying to change anyone's mind.

It quite simple...go try a VR headset and find the integrity and maturity to only speak from actual experience if you really feel that strongly about VR not being a good enough priority in this new sim.

There are only a few opposing posts of folks actually speaking from first hand experience the rest are pretty disingenuous bitter biased posting trying to be passed facts.

It would be foolish of me to intentionally hop in a thread about a specific feature others want in the sim and to make up false statistics about a certain simulation hardware user's population or importance in our small community.

Once I reach the point where im making up excuses for the devs NOT to implement a certain feature others want...what am I exactly to this community?

Don't let your own selfish narrow minded bias become a bottleneck or clog in the pipeline for the evolution and advancement of flight simulation folks, we really are a small percentage of the overall gaming/pc software market.

I want it all for this new MSFS title...yes all..even the components of flight simulation I don't particularly care for and will never use in my sim style personally.

Via petition, direct feedback to devs or whatever we have to fight for what we want in flight simming as a whole.

Agreed. I suspect that without the outside interference, this would likely have been a pretty modest thread.

Everyone interested in ATC should listen to that audio interview.

You can tell by their tone and what they say that:

1.  it will come at some point

2.  it's not a release priority

3.  it's really complicated and they want to do it right when they do it.

I'm not advocating either way, I just encourage people to get it from the source rather than us speculating about "their resources".

I like that last bit of your quote. I dont care how they program it, what resources it takes, how many people work there, what comes first. When you specifically ask me , what's YOUR priority and why ... I'll tell... and if something else if Asobos priority? Cool....  but to rattle on about this, omg , my head is already hurting people, it's your hobby, enjoy it, dont worry about how Asobo resources, programming techniques, corporate agreements . It's all such a huge turnoff, right irrics?

I don't know about the others posting here who are not die-hard VR enthusiasts, but I've certainly tried VR (Rift and Vive) in both FSX and DCS. Sadly I got motion sickness but that alone would not have been enough to make me abandon it had I thought that it was so good that it was worth persevering with. We all make our own choices and compromises.

I can't speak for anyone else, but the only reason I've quoted stats is not to somehow stop Asobo implementing VR, but just to try and help people understand their decision not to put it into the initial release. As I've said in other posts, I think it should eventually be in their for those who want it, but I can see why it may not be their number one priority.

Yea VR sickness is something some folks just can't physically get over unfortunately.

You may wanna try a Valve Index it has high refresh rate options up to 144hz mode believe.{of course this comes with a hardware toll}

If its actually low refresh rates that bring on your VR sickness.

We don't know what resources they have, but what we can be absolutely certain about is that they're not limitless. If they have to prioritise some features over others, doesn't it make sense to prioritise those which will benefit the most users?

Exactly why ATC and Seasons should be a priority over VR....

It benefits everyone first!!!

Depending on how narrowly one chooses to define "everyone"

I don’t get for the life of me why VR would be a priority over ATC in any realistic flight sim!

Might as well rebox MS Flight and everyone can just fly GA around taking off on the wrong runways in the wrong directions with no other AI aircraft anywhere or AI flying right into you with no ATC vectoring while sightseeing in their pretty VR view!

Indeed. Thank you for playing.  I think you need to update your persuasion game.  Keep going.  I’m confident, at this rate we will hit 60 pages by the 10th

Funny but pointless argument!

Are you actually naive enough to think MS will only consider adding VR depending on how many pages this thread gets to...?  Lol!

No kidding..

The new/younger/VR oriented user could easily enjoy MSFS, forever, without seasons or ATC.

Lest we not forget folks that XP11 is very successful, has VR, no seasons and totally hot garbage ATC. - XP is doing very well.

True...!

And exactly why it sits unused on my PC while I keep spending money on P3D!

BTW The XP11 bad ATC is a constant complaint on Steam Forums... and Laminar have said over and over that they were going to improve it but never have!  I’ve seen it not be a priority in XP11 and it appears it will never get the stated redo!

ATC is not easy to implement and there is a reason why payware addons all have varying issues trying to improve on the default FSX AI!
