October 18, 20196 yr I am speaking of the Garonne river pic in the EP#1. The landscape rendition is superb except... except the river is blue in the sim, yellowish (silted) in the real world. Something I look forward in the new sim is a true coloring of water bodies. Please Asobo, don't give us blue Mekong, Huang He, Congo, rivers in Borneo or ... Gironde estuary ! Red or yellow rivers have the name they have for some reasons ! October 18, 20196 yr Things like this will probably just take time. The water is apparently shader based so I guess they havent created all the various water appearances caused by runoff or agitation due to rain or even wind. I don't think this sim is a "here it is, see you in five years" kind of thing. I think its going to updated to include more features and existing features improved all along the way. So who knows what we'll get at release but it will be good enough for me Im sure and it will get better over time. But I agree with you and Im hoping for lots of water appearance changes due mostly to weather in my thinking. | Dave | I've been around for most of my life. It's not just the river that changed the color on that specific scene. The vegetation also changed, it can be they just used different imagery on that area. We've already seen a lot of rivers/coastal areas of different colors, I don't think everything will be blue. 9800X3D@H150i // Msi RTX 5090 Trio OC // 64GB DDR5 6000mhz CL30 // 2TB + 1TB Nvme Dell 27" 2127DGF - 1440p - Gsync - 165hz Thrustmaster TCA Sidestick Airbus // TCA Quadrant Airbus // TFRP T.Flight Rudder Pedals // Logitech Flight Multi Panel
October 18, 20196 yr The water masked rivers might not be coloured differently, but if the developers can show silt and sand banks, then that makes it a lot more realistic already to me. A muddy brown colour for the Mississippi or Amazon rivers or a dirty green for the Thames would be nice. But I'm so used to seeing blue water everywhere from P3D, that I don't even notice any more. The river color belongs to the landscape as much as its shape does. Imagine the lands on both sides of the Hormuz Straits all greenish. You wouldn't have it, would you 😃 ? 2 hours ago, ca_metal said: , I don't think everything will be blue. 2 hours ago, sightseer said: I don't think this sim is a "here it is, see you in five years" kind of thing. We are moving from FSX/P3D LC/Vector coarse representation to orthos for that, having an accurate geographic representation. The GE sat imagery shows the Garonne yellow on the last 60 miles. The Bing imagery is weird. Zooming the map out, the Garonne is blue, zooming in brings a yellow texture pasted over. October 18, 20196 yr I totally agree. I am optimistic because I believe the Azure rendering process will be able to color the rivers correctly based on the satellite imagery. This specific river being blue can be because of the ortho imagery. As you said, the imagery shows it blue if zoom out. 9800X3D@H150i // Msi RTX 5090 Trio OC // 64GB DDR5 6000mhz CL30 // 2TB + 1TB Nvme Dell 27" 2127DGF - 1440p - Gsync - 165hz Thrustmaster TCA Sidestick Airbus // TCA Quadrant Airbus // TFRP T.Flight Rudder Pedals // Logitech Flight Multi Panel
April 11, 20206 yr It amazes me how critical so many people are with things like this at this early stage of product development. There is a LOT of WORLD to cover to make sure everything is right. And it takes a lot of time to cover all of this. Just because someone mentions it as feedback to the developers doesn't mean they are going to make it a top priority, but I'm sure they have noted it to make sure it gets fixed when the time is right. 32GB DDR4 3200Mhz i7-9700K RTX 3060 12GB GDDR6

Two reminders. FS20 is not a gift. It is a paying product that we, the customers, will buy only if we like it. Since early on, Asobo has requested feedbacks from the community. This is what this forum has been all about. I honestly prefer that to the secretive approach of Lockheed Martin . Exchange with the community to get a feel. As I said in the other thread I am fairly confident that Asobo will correct things. If and only if we show that things are not right.Of course, there is a lot of world to cover but Asobo works with sat maps to drape the terrain, that should help a little to get waters the right colors. The ESP engine has never done a good job in this department. Expecting a lot from FS20. Well to me it is kind of a gift. 😛 I'm thankful that someone in the software business picked up flight simulation again, bringing it to the level of what's possible this day and age. FSX/P3D was getting pretty prehistoric and becoming a bunch of add-ons hold on together with glue and repainted over and over again, like brittle bones on a museum dinosaur, I thought I never would see a simulator that has it all. Developers, thank you! 💟 MaVe Creations - FSLTL - Free AI sounds - Giving your airports more atmosphere! www.mavecreations.weebly.com
April 12, 20206 yr As we all know, or should by now, FS20 is a farm sim!! & is not a gift - I'm not sure as to how you can think that something you pay for is a gift! A gift or a present is an item given to someone without the expectation of payment or anything in return. An item is not a gift if that item is already owned by the one to whom it is given. Remember, there are scenery/water issues, as MSFS is STILL an ALPHA release, with more Alpha releases to go, before it enters BETA, also with possibly a couple of releases, before becoming a Release Candidate... so yes, there are & will be issues until then. Maybe keep your praise until MSFS is released? Robin "Onward & Upward" ... To the Stars, & Beyond...
