Portland - FSX vs FlightScenery comparison

Featured Replies

Check out this amazing comparison. In the first corner we have the [a href=http://www.flightscenery.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=4739#4739]FSX version of KPDX[/a].In the second corner we have the [a href=http://www.flightscenery.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=4796#4796]FS9 + FlightScenery version of KPDX[/a].*DING*Can you say TKO? :)EditThe point of this post was to show a comparison and not to knock FSX. The boxing theme was just to add some spice to the post. Please don't take it as a knock against FSX. Thank you.End Edit

It's Staphane :) He's at the leading edge of scenery design.

>It's Staphane :) He's at the leading edge of scenery design.Definately, but at least spell the leading scenery designer's name right. It's Stephane :) ( just pokin' fun )

"*DING*Can you say TKO?"No comparison although FSX's new default scenery is very acceptable for airports that have no add-on scenery created for them. You can basically go anywhere in FSX and feel like your at a functioning airport. All that's missing is parking lot texture on the ground in front of the terminals... :-)

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR

I wasn't trying to knock FSX, just to show a comparison. I guess I coulda left that TKO part out, I was just trying to put some spice into the post itself. :(

Thanks for the link Jeff!! Stephane's work is the best :-)

in fact, it is St

Now if we can just clone him 23,998 times and put a clone to work on each airport in MSFS... (-:

That is some scenery there....... honestly without actual engine improvements (which fsx doesn't have) you can't get it much better than that.so addon for fsx won't look any better than fs9 imo.and no, DX10 will do nothing, for those clinging onto it.

LOL! Actually I use a querty, it is just I need to type in French from time to time and I've configured windows with two keyboards input methods. ALT+SHIFT and I toggle from one to the other (

What are you basing these pointed statements on, exactly?I would consider the additional effects and higher texture resolution (not too mention the higher object counts) to be improved performance, wouldn't you?I'm ignoring your DX10 statement, oh Grand Prognosticator. :(

I remember hearing about the PDX project sometime ago, but this is just awesome! For someone who lives in the Pacific Northwest, I'll be all over this add-on :)
