What the ....!I just can't believe my 3.2 Dell with a 256mb ATI Radeon 9800 XT PRO and 2gb Ram is as bad is it is.I must have got my system right when they rounded to corner with g-card tech.I can't wait to junk it now just so I can get back into the double digits.

At my normal settings but taking autogen down to normal, it was around 35. So not unheard of.

I wonder what the graphics settings were and what they were looking at. The only way I saw 50+ FPS in the FSX demo was to stare longingly out over a shader2-less ocean and clear sky when no boats were going past :-lol Seriously though, with the FS series being so CPU-bound in the past, I'll be mighty impressed if a 7900 series GPU can triple the frame rates I saw in the FSX demo with my 6800.Gary

This is incredibly ironic. At this very moment I'm loading FS9 into my very first "power" computer. Have never had a decent computer before. It's the E6600 Dual Core with the GE Force 7900GS just like in the review. I just got the computer a couple hours ago and in about 10 minutes I'll be off on my first flight. That gives me about 9 minutes to read the review.I'm so excited I could pea myself. My wife is visiting her family in Montreal, I'm in Vancouver with just the cat, so I think this is going to be my first all nighter in about 10 years.Yahoo!!!

I installed a new Motherboard and CPU into my case back in June, but my wife knows nothing aout it. Startup post looks a little different, but she does not notice. I did it all while she was at work.RH

The GS is a low end vid card anyway. I wouldnt put it in my box. For FSX a 7900gt is the bare minimum imo. In single monitor mode at 1280x1024 i can run with everything maxed at smooth frame rates, but i use the matrox triplehead setup for the widescreen effect and i get pretty good frame rates for the most part. I am upgrading to a conroe system in the next month or two though, especially since i found out in this thread that the game is cpu bound. I asked the aces guy a few weeks back if the game was gpu or cpu bound and never got a reply :/ Thanks for answering this for me! Now i have no reason not to upgrade :)
