Vulkan decided to take XP on a trip that is light years away, so don't hold your breath.

Don´t worry - X-Plane has done the Kessel run in 11 parsecs, so it will be back faster than you think!

I can already feel the disappointment that will go something like this....

Step 1: Oh cool, I get 6 FPS more with 11.50!!!

Step 2: So, let's turn on scenery shadows finally.

Step 3: Umm, there goes my 6 FPS advantage, doh!

Step 4: Wait, scenery shadows cost more than 6 FPS.

Step 5: 11.50 performance is worse than 11.40 !!!!!

Step 6: My plug-ins ain't working in 11.50!

Step 7: 11.50 is horrible!

Their code probably exploded, we are more than 2 months past their initial beta release window.  I hope no one was holding their breath.  And I know Vulkan will not bring major changes to the platform, however for years I have suffered from the occasional stutter and un-smooth game play which is completely distracting.  I am tired of having my hardware sitting at 40% utilization and running like garbage so for me, Vulkan is important for hardware optimization reasons.  @Colonel X

Well, last news about Vulkan were few weeks ago. I would expect to hear something from them soon, even if it's a "we are working on it guys" or "look at all the things Austin is doing besides working on improving XP!" 😄
