TOGA Projects ENVSOUND Released at SimMarket

Recommended Posts

Ok, working after reinstalling.
Nice addition to VFR flights, for me sounds are fine and quite discreet.

I'd like to ask, which sounds are audible when flying except rain and thunder?

the skipper next to you moaning about his roster,  for added realism the dull sick tones need to start at  10k, about the time the tray table comes about and the Daily Mail appears and just after he presses the call to fwd galley button....

Oh, if only that were the case, I'd consider buying it to go with my copy of EnvShade...😂

I thought it was funny.

Maybe a future feature for FS2Crew 🙂

You can adjust the levels so that you will not hear birds etc. while flying and engine sound on. If the engine sound level is too low, you can hear birds. You have to balance out the engine sound with the Envsound setting.  I have the animals and coastal birds sound pretty low. I fly low and slow in the ORbx Alaska scenery and the Return to MIsty Moorings freeware and the sound fit in very nicely. Looking forward to more sounds from author.

Yes, If you listen carefully you can even hear the farting of cows!  Talk about screwing up our Ozone layer!!!

This isn't meant to be a game changer of a product and it isn't sold or priced that way. It's a well thought out addon that adds incrementally to the immersion. Adjust it the way you like and it will add some cool effects in the background but it won't knock your socks off. Their other products are fantastic and as this is a work in progress it will only get better with time. For the price you can't go wrong.

I don't know why some persons are taking such shots....buy it or not...but sarcasm comments act as 'influencers'  for some....to buy, or not buy.   If the description and the product's mandate appeals to you....buy. If not...move on, move on...keep the traffic flowing....  For myself...sound, (as a musician,  sound is a very important part of my life)  I most likely will be picking this up.  I picked up Acc-Feel for that very reason. The sound through Accu-Feel of water and waves slapping (beautifully so!) against the hull of an Amphib...locks it all down...that you ARE sitting on and over the water...   Each to their own, of course.  I'll keep an eye on this product,...for I do want to see a couple more videos of the environmental sound being demonstrated.

Post edit: Case in point...I love the sound of the birds as you have the cockpit windows open, or are at low engine taxi...at Orbx's KORS....and I see this product filling all locations with that sort of sonic environmental wildlife reference.

Cheers,

For just a few €, I've given this a try.

I'd like to see some further controls added, such as:
- frequency of sounds playing (bird calls occur too frequently in some situations)
- ability to turn off sounds when in a cockpit with doors closed
- higher volumes available for all sound sets
- more individually selectable airfield mechanical sounds, e.g. GPUs, airside vehicles, GA and airliner take-offs and landings, engine run-ups...

It helps create some extra atmosphere and, for me, is a nice addition to my GA flying, for the price.

Is this just for natural sounds, or does it also make the ai engines more realistic as their passing by?

'Natural sounds' only. Rain, wind, thunder, birds, animals, waves, but also city and port 'ambiences'.

For AI aircraft sounds, if using any AI package except AIG take a look at:
https://library.avsim.net/search.php?SearchTerm=aitrsp_v1.8.zip&CatID=root&Go=Search

If using AIG AI, the same sounds come as part of the AIM package.

In the Carenado Citation II I can hear the bird sounds even with the engines running. This is with the "coastal bird" setting in the EnvSound interface set to "low".
