Starting to worry about this new sim...

Featured Replies

We've been getting reports that the sim in offline mode still looks better that the other sims with their default scenery so it's not something to really worry about imo. What's more important is being able to attend these events with a portable laptop that can run the game at high fps. Good optimization opens up new possibilities 🙂

They have already proven they don't need internet to do a show.  At the Rainier Flight School demo, they used precached data around the Renton, WA area.  They even mention it in the Q&A back in Sept 2019.

I have done shows like CES, and you always plan and prepare for not having internet.

My brother has Coronavirus, confirmed by testing. On 3/26 he almost didn't survive the night.  He had extreme trouble breathing and was given a steroid inhaler.  He was very weak, had nausea, and other issues that aren't pleasant.  As of this update he is feeling much better, and seems he will be fine.  Stay safe out there.  (Updated 4/6)

But at least one of the people who attended that demo reported that they were using a 20 Mb connection. Sorry, I can’t remember who that was at the moment.

I am not saying if they had internet or not, just that they didn't need it.  Here is the source for where he says the demo is cached - https://youtu.be/a-ppN8HjZGk?t=1089

For more context, start at 16:27 in that video, and then he makes the comment at about 18:12.
