Will we get P3d v4.6?

Recommended Posts

Keep in mind that the vanillla MSFS needs a lot of addon airports and probably also an addon weather engine .

Addons aircraft with complex systems.

And there will always be cities that are not in their list of most important ones.

Then the addon developers can add the known objects.

Photo scenery Addons will probably not be needed anymore.

Regarding other games which show more performance and have nicer visuals : P3D includes the complete world. Those games only use a small area which makes the complete game smaller in size.

My P3Dv4 + scenery Addons is 1.1 Tb in size...

Why do you think that is true? As to airports, the buildings should be like other buildings in the sim and should be correct as to size, shape and location. Maybe 3rd party developers might try to secure higher resolution photorealistic building textures but getting those could be a major chore.

We'll have to wait to see how the new weather engine works, but considering that highly accurate and georeferenced weather data is readily available online, it would be surprising that MSFS would be deficient in this area.

You think that MSFS will built the airports in a quality like addon developers do know ?

Airports that sometimes are taking a year to make ? And that is just 1 big airport.

So addon developers will be needed.

Hiwever, everyone who is satisfied with MSFS out of the box, great ...

I agree about the airports, but i'm not sure about needing any weather addons, but time will tell, from what i've seen there are still plenty of opportunities for 3rd party devs, which is a good thing IMO.

Yes, to the upgraded airports, but for weather....What more do you want than what they have already shown us?

It sounds to me like people won't believe that MS will deliver a game which is so far from anything we have ever seen before.I am surely looking forward to not having to buy lots of addons again,

With the default P3D weather engine + Orbx themes it also looks quiet good too ....

I want Active Sky quality in MSFS and improved on that.

MSFS will give us a great looking fligtsim and there will always be room for improvements ...

Imagine : nothing to talk about coming add  releases..

Perhaos just 1 new Topic per month in the MSFS forum .

Only for that reason I will stay with P3D too .

We are almost family here ...😊

These are paid addons, What we have seen in the MSFS videos is DEFAULT weather, and personally I can't imagine what can be improved.

I have NEVER seen weather with Orbx themes and Active sky (and yes, I have both) in P3D, that can compete with what they have shown in MSFS.

Once you have tried it all in MSFS you will find things for improvement...

Let’s wait and see

I'm just gonna cruise at 2000 ft AGL and look at our beautiful planet in all its glory with some great music in the background. And if that's all MSFS is good for I'm OK with that. With all the spots on the map I'd like to see it will probably keep me occupied for years. I couldn't care less about detailed airports, extra aircraft or real weather. I already got that pretty well covered in P3D v4. So you see, we're all different.

Like I've said before.  The things I'm going to require to fully change sims will probably not come with MSFS out of the box.  Complex Airliners, VATSIM, GSX, Seasons, etc.  Will it be cool to fly around 172's over my neighborhood.  Of course.  But what keeps me coming back is the realistic simulation of airliner flights.

There is so much you can do in P3D because of the huge numbers of addons it is simply incredible. MS2020 is not going to able to compete with that for a long time. At the end of the day it will have somewhat better graphics and somewhat better weather but at the expense of functionality. If P3Dv5 breaks backward compatibility it will take a lot to shift me from P3D 4.5...4.6 though.

What I don't get is all this "preaching" where people present their own wants and needs as the truth, and as something that should apply for the flight sim community as a whole.

Could not have said better !
