I have this issue with the AP panel lights as well.  I have installed the fix above to no effect.  For me, it seems to be related to using the cold and dark script from the Lear's in-game menu.

What do you mean by related. If you do not use this option then all is ok? What steps do you do to make this new fix fail? I think you are not updating correctly or something because the fix is external code now and should never fail.

I'm having trouble re-producing it on a quick flight, but it honestly feels like I'm encountering this one on every flight where I do a realistic cockpit set-up.  I set up my weights, get everything ready to go, program the GTN etc...but when when I hit the AP test after starting, I get darkness.  AP power switch was always verified on.  Perhaps it has something to do with the time frame it takes before I start the engines (although I do have FSUIPC's infinite battery option checked, and I've used the Lear GPU on several of my flights).

I will try a clean install and some more testing.  I originally installed v4.2 as a clean install but it can't hurt to try again.

Delete the default flight and previous saved flight files in p3d files in my documents try that

I have the panel light bug also if I press "cold and dark" on the Learjet Hangar (shift+1) after first loading in. If I do not press it, the panel lights up.

Got it too when pressing Cold and Dark in the hangar popup. Save a default flight cold and dark and the panel lights work. Dont press cold and dark on the hangar popup.

Well of course if you press all systems off you will have no power and then no panel lights.

What? Oh come on. I am powering up the aircraft after selecting "cold and dark" on the Hangar popup and I cannot get the autopilot light panel to work. If I skip the cold and dark option the autopilot lights work fine with the fix panel edit provided. Why would you think I pressed cold and dark and tried the panel lights without any systems on?

Sorry i was confused as you said cold and dark. We have 2 options all systems off and ready to start. If you press systems off followed by ready to start then the AP lights should work? Do they work?

If you manually turn systems on after clicking all systems off make sure the master autopilot switch on the pilots lower main panel is turned on.

Here are 3 ways to test those lights.

1. Battery on then click the annunciator test button under the left fire handle. No master autopilot switch required.

2. Battery on and master autopilot switch on. Then press the TST button on the autopilot panel. This is the autopilot test button.

3. Battery on and master autopilot switch on. Then some of the autopilot buttons will light up when pressed.

 Hope this solves your problem. Or let me know if there is still an issue!

The panel light fix does not work after using the cold and dark option then starting up normally. If I do not press cold and dark on the hangar popup the panel lights work.

I would like to try and figure out what is going on, so some more details would help. First, to be clear and make sure I understand the situation, after clicking on All Systems Off on the Lear's Hanger popup (Shift+1)!, each of the three specific tests that Mark listed above failed in that none of the lights turned on -- is that correct? Also, when you say panel lights, do you mean the AP lights, the annunciator lights, both, or what?

I also need to know if after clicking All Systems Off, if you then click on Ready To Start do either the AP lights or annunciator lights work when you press the different test buttons?

Thx,

Al

@ark @Flysimware

Flying the Lear a lot this week, trying to find the exact conditions that duplicate this bug.  I have been trying all 3 methods to show the AP lights that Mark described above.

It has been slippery...but I can tell you that it only happens if I you use the "all systems off" feature, even if it's not 100% of the time.  If I had a guess, it has to do with some element of time.  Either the amount of time the airplane sits before clicking "all systems off" or the amount of time it takes to start powering stuff up after clicking the shortcut.

Maybe something in the "systems off" script gets stuck in a loop (under certain conditions) and forces the lights dark?  It looks like one of your visibility triggers is (A:ELECTRICAL MAIN BUS VOLTAGE,Volts) 3.0 >...so maybe something is causing the battery to deplete?

Interesting idea, I need to think about that.

I did check the battery and it was still about 24 volts after the Lear was sitting in "All systems off" for 30 min.

The next time the lights happen to fail, would you please just turn on the battery 1 and read the DC voltage on the meter (gauge) located on the center of the main panel above the throttle quadrant.

Thx,

Al

@Flysimware @ark

It's not volts...as indicated anyway.  I have the bug right now, but the voltmeter is showing >24V.  It's possible the cockpit gauge could reference a custom Lvar, but Mark would know that.

The set-up was: Loaded P3D with default F-22 flight as always. Selected the Lear (one of my repaints) and KSMX as the start point.  Walked away from PC while it loaded, came back probably ~5min after it finished loading.  Set "all systems off", then turned on Batt1 and AP lights were unresponsive to all three tests.
