There is defintely room for improvement. To be honest I was never a fan of clouds in msfs. I posted about it on reddit too. The thunder clouds look like volcanic ash/smoke. They dont seem to have a defined shape and they always have this weird out of focus effect.

right that is what I noticed too in the episodes.

I could be mistaken but I think the difference in the clouds look and feel and aspects between the pusblished screenshots / videos is based in my opinion on the visual settings of the users?

By judge on episodes clouds I guess a high end computer was used, again sometimes look good but sometimes it doesn't.

Noise generated clouds are like that. All concepts you had of good old REX 2d ultracrispy textures, forget about them. This is the future, that is the past and not something we'll deal with anymore.

I can create noise based clouds that look 10 times better than the alpha and even pre rendered.

cloud generated from physical parameters can be sometimes good, and not good, like in real situation , sometime cloud are enought good for a nice photographic day, and sometime, i need to report my photographic day because cloud are hugly.

In this case you must contact Asobo and the developers of XEnviro as well.

Unigine got this implemented a couple of years ago but their engine is licensed for professional simulation and thus the hardware could be in a different league to render such real time clouds:

Well, Asobo better hire you.

While we wait for that, you can put a video on youtube. Of course your better clouds have to run in the same environment, otherwise it is possible. As i said (and you might have missed it), it's a matter of quality AND performance.

He's already been contacted by the United States government to build cloud simulations for the new Space Force.

hmm clouds are voxels, no texture.

Not sure about these fox holes but I think I can manage to live with it. 😉

Computer specs: CPU: fast | RAM: enough | GPU: fast | SSD: Pretty fast | Monitor: big | Internet bandwidth: pretty fast | Everything is 3Dfx compatible. 😉

MSFS noise based clouds are the best looking/feeling that could happen to a home personal entertainment PC flight simulator with a complex world that looks like the world of MSFS and has a fair performance...

Tech demo noise clouds could look better as stand alone tech demo clouds...
