Shall we have an add-on for the Clouds?

don't get me wrong, I prefer performance and I think the clouds look very good sometimes and sometimes not, I just want to know if re-clouding should be considered as an add-on (until now) as is alpha and things could get smoother in the near future.

indeed, the clouds are not bad. My concern is not so much about the remoteness, but about the proximity to them. Once we are almost entering them, there are multiple changes of light.

The microsoft flight simulator videos are excellent, but there are few moments when we see immersion in different types of clouds.
Every madman with his theme, mine has always been clouds and air traffic.
hahaha

volumetric clouds are highly sensitive to lighting however I know a trick to stabilise that.

Lack of harmony in clouds could be because of going from one "sky layer" to another, I think I could handle that too..

blurred clouds in proximity with a crisp distant valley is not good indeed.

Can you give an example when you don't like the clouds? How the sim looks depends of course on the specifications of the computer you use. I think that in most cases the screenshots that were made by the development team look pretty fantastic. Perhaps some screenshots from beta testers might be slightly less detailed but not everybody might have the latest hardware.

Computer specs: CPU: fast | RAM: enough | GPU: fast | SSD: Pretty fast | Monitor: big | Internet bandwidth: pretty fast | Everything is 3Dfx compatible. 😉

Yes, the clouds look in that particular part of the video not the best. On the other hand, at the same moment they are calculating airflow and turbulence (green lines). This might be the reason that they had to lower the detail a bit. Not sure of course. In most screenshots that I saw the clouds look way better.  I mean, this looks almost as if it is a photo: Microsoft-Flight-Simulator_2019_11-14-19

I dont share my project files, but I can create very sharp clouds in proximity.

I've never seen clouds like this in reality, except in red and after an explosion of a building.

Well I;m only experimenting on the fly. I could improve it.

I agree, those look blurry when they shouldn't.  But I also don't think clouds should always look sharp.  I would guess distance, and thickness matter.

My brother has Coronavirus, confirmed by testing. On 3/26 he almost didn't survive the night.  He had extreme trouble breathing and was given a steroid inhaler.  He was very weak, had nausea, and other issues that aren't pleasant.  As of this update he is feeling much better, and seems he will be fine.  Stay safe out there.  (Updated 4/6)

My volumes databse are VDB containing data used to simulate volumetric effects, such as clouds and smoke, or represent a surface, such as water, so even if I send you my sharp clouds examples you will need to accept this format in order to appreciate them within an engine.
