I know where the general screenshots would go to, same as you. Do you have a problem with that? Mitch

April 20, 20206 yr Administrators I have moved this topic into the screenshot forum because of the "multiple screenshots" In the working forums it is OK to post one or two shots as an example. Multiple screenshots will be moved here. Charlie AronAVSIM Board of Directors-ADMIN/Moderator-RegistrarJust going to run a Chromebook and not upgrade to a Windows computer. Gérard Ok...I'll make up all my Graphic Menu pages, and shoot a pic., but that will have to be to tomorrow. Here are my three HDR settings, that are affecting my 'world' render, HDR from top three settings to bottom:

April 20, 20206 yr To me, TrueSky still needs a lot of improvement. That will come, for sure. April 20, 20206 yr Moderator Hey Mitch, I’ve also been fascinated by truesky. I was curious if you see any impact on performance (both fps, and v-ram wise)? Even on ultra, I get a bit of pixelation in the cloud layer, which in beta is of course ok, I was just curious why changing truesky cloud cover and quality have hardly any performance decrease on my system?! Cheers, Pete No impact Peter, from the use of TrueSky...but I have noticed very much, that the scenery content DOES in fact impact...and as an example, in taking shots of TrueSky, over Orbx's San Francisco, yesterday I generated the highest vRAM usage I have yet seen. (I have P3D v5 totally cranked right now..) and that figure was as I left KOAK to do my circle of the city, heading out to the Point...was 6.2, out of my 6.7 budget. I was happy and relieved to see, that (with the latest nVidia driver suite, and my choices within...) I did not vRAM OOM and CTD. I flew around and around with the figures moving back to 5,9, 6.1, 6.2...but never a crash as the result. You would think that L.M. can come up with that you could run all the way to 100 percent of your vRAM budget...before you'd CTD. I hope that will be the case with the coming HF's... Usable now, though..and even more so, if you can generate real-time weather such as you can at present with a properly installed FSXWS 1.6.1 That is when you see your cloud banks and formations come to TrueSky 'life'. Before,...not so much.

April 21, 20206 yr What exactly is TrueSky? If I have REX textures and ActiveSky for weather generation, do I even need TrueSky enabled?
April 22, 20206 yr Author 10 hours ago, Boomer said: What exactly is TrueSky? If I have REX textures and ActiveSky for weather generation, do I even need TrueSky enabled? Yes...for that is the Particle Engine...that will give your cloud set, volumetric as well as volumetric fog, if you have that enabled. If you don't have that on...or Enhanced Atmos (which is the TrueSky engine), then you will have 2D clouds...which of course is not bad in itself. Just a matter of personal choice, is all.
