April 21, 20206 yr Moderator A gentleman named Roland Foster has created two utilities that better manage Ai aircraft when on approach and for ground-based actions. The link below will identify both. These are especially useful if you have a lot of Ai injected into P3D v4.5. https://library.avsim.net/search.php?SearchTerm=AiFlow&CatID=root&Go=Search I am about to install them and see how well they work but the people over at AIG like it. Note it appears to be designed for P3D v4 so I'm not sure how it will cope with v5 as I don't have that yet. Oh, and it will run on a client PC apparently. Ray (Cheshire, England). April 21, 20206 yr Author Moderator I've installed AiFlow on a Windows 7 Pro PC. When running the exe it complained vcruntime140_1.dll was not present. I copied that file from my W10 PC into Windows\System32 and that fixed it. Ray (Cheshire, England). April 21, 20206 yr Wow, this is what the AI community needs. I am holding off re-installing AIGOCI until they've got it V5 ready, but will be looking forward to checking this out. Can anyone confirm if it has got rid of multiple planes trying to land at once and unrealistic delays in being allowed to line up and wait whilst awaiting landing aircraft to depart the active runway? Ian, I'm still evaluating it but the program is putting inbounds into temporary holds around 40-50nm out and soon after releasing them. If you have two computers set the non-P3D one up with this program plus Little Navmap so you can monitor the Ai. Ai Companion is helpful too. Available over at the AIG Resource/Tools forum. I also limit Ai to 100 in FSUIPC just to prevent too many being injected. Ray (Cheshire, England). I contacted Roland via e-mail and he mentioned he'll be addressing some more issues with the AI both in ground and in flight, like traffic don't fully evacuating the runway after landing before stopping and AI traffic behavior when holding short just before take-off or awaiting other AI traffic to land. I keep checking the new uploads section of the AVSIM library for new releases of useful utilities, like this one. I suppose anyone can write and congratulate him for these good utilities and also ask him about future releases and improvements. He was very responsive to my original e-mail. April 21, 20206 yr I plan on downloading these immediately. Thank goodness that some folks are willing to spend many hours developing utilities like this and then offer then to everyone as freeware. Maybe the P3D and MSFS developers, who are well paid I imagine, should consult Roland on ways to improve the AI - and, of course, pay him a consulting fee. April 21, 20206 yr Author Moderator @edpatino, I haven't tried the ground one yet. Just completed a flight from EGLL to EHAM so very busy airports. No problems really. I landed on 06 but there was an Ai controlled by AiFlow forcing another inbound to a different runway to circle above me. But he was 3,000ft higher so whilst it looked alarming on a map there was enough seperation. It looks good and can be minimised once you're not reading what it's doing. I shall certainly write and thank him. Ray (Cheshire, England). April 21, 20206 yr This is fantastic news! I’ve been a long time user of AIMOnitor for FSX. This was the only thing missing in regards to more realistic AI behaviour in P3D v4. Question; is there a force runway option in either of these? In the previous version you could command AI to land and depart certain runways (overriding the need to alter the AFCADs). Will definitely be giving these apps a go anyways ☺️ Edited April 21, 20206 yr by jambo50 Jaime Boyle
April 21, 20206 yr And here I was just sitting down wondering what I was going to do today. I downloaded these when I saw them up on the front page last week...time to give them a try. April 23, 20206 yr Testing as we speak. Does anyone know if these play nice with the AI.dll for sloped runways? Deactivated the latter for the time being.
