on a heavy airport it will very probably crash

Does that mean big stock airport or any particular addon? I've been to a few stock medium to large example LIRF (also using stock planes traffic and weather injected by SimConnect).

Only addons Steve.
Try PHNL if you own it.
My card goes up to 8.5/9.1Gb and crashes after few seconds.
(But my settings are pretty maxed though)

OK thanks David. So you think it is more likely that the stock sim cannot be ramped up in settings enough to crash it alone. I'll try some addon scenery...

Well, at least on my rig, yes, the sim began to crash after I installed ORBX stuff + the V5 compatible airports I own.
I can say for sure that AIG, ASP3D + PMDG/A2A aircraft have no impact on Vram.
Only sceneries/airports.

This is quite obviously NOT a hardware or driver issue - its a bug in the LM code.  No if's or but's.  Does anyone know if they are aware of the issue?

Of course it is.  You don't have to be a genius to work it out.  Thats why Rob, Simbol and best wishes Dave are not in the topic. Heaven forbid saying bad things about LM or having them liable for any liability.

No amount of charts, graphs and blaming the customers system is going to get LM out of this one!

I tried to rollback to an earlier driver (v18.2 on Radeon 580) and it still crashed.  Windows update installed v19.2 drivers without asking me (!) and it still falls over unless I stick with vanilla. Currently considering installing 20.2.2 as this works fine with all my other games.

P3D v4.5, FSXSE, IL2, cities skylines, arma3, GTA5 all work fine.  Even Red Dead Redemption 2 worked first time on my PC! 😄

Ever tried NVIDIA "Studio driver" which is not wringing out your GPU to the last drop for benchmark lists?

Tried just now, to no avail, same hung.
Thanks anyway!

Here I have PR scenery + custom AG + POIs for Europe and ifvI try True Earth GB + AS Heathrow with bad weather and PSXT AI aircraft I have still 2.5 Gb left on my server ( 2x 4K in NVsurround ) with a 2080 Ti.

My left view client has a 2080 and also 2 Gb left.

My aircraft is Prosim.

Hopefully you can work it out David.

First flight I got the hang. I defaulted Nvidia Control Panel 3D Profiles and not had one hang since.

That is while running stock v5.0.21.34874. Meaning not using my favourite plane or airport - nothing added.

Using EA Beta and moderate settings. NVLinked 2080Ti x 2, 4k display and in-sim resolution, 9980Xe 64GB HT Enabled AM=16777045.

Could it be the ndivia power settings in ncp do you think.?

When the dxgi errors happened in 4.2 rob used to always blame it on the power settings for the 1080ti (2080s where not out back then)

David - have you tried opening popup windows, like the FMC in the PMDG or GPS in an A2A aircraft? I think the problems I have experienced tended to happen with gauges opened in popup windows.  I am interested if there is a significant VRAM impact with some of those.

For some reason I am having a lot of out of memory and crashing issues with PHNL as well. This area tends to eat up VRAM like crazy, not sure why. I have FSDT PHNL, Orbx Global, Orbx Trees HD/Building HD/TerraFlora v2, Orbx Cityscape Honolulu, GSX, AIG, Global Ship Traffic v2 in an A2A C172. Even with medium to low settings on my sliders this area is very VRAM hungry and problematic.

It doesn't make much sense, since in other heavily populated urban areas such as KSFO, using Flightbeam's KSFO HD with the same add-ons but using PMDG 747 this time and my sliders medium to high settings, I can run it fine without going over my VRAM.

do you happen to be using msi afterburner?

I also thought that the  MSI afterburner is to blame. But met DGXI error and without msi afterburner

Thank you Gerard.
PR is awesome with P3D5!
I am now 95% convinced that the GPU crash is linked to some specific sceneries/airports which are VRAM eaters.

Well, not on my side actually.
On the A2A aircraft I have the F1GTN750 linked to a throttle button so it can pop-up whenever I want.
Same for the FMC on the PMDG B748.
No impact at all on fps nor VRAM.

It reinforces my guess that the problem comes from certain airports, and PHNL is one of them, although "compatible V5".
