I also would recommend Aerosoft

Friedrichshafen EDNY (smaller one)

Stuttgart EDDS (medium one)

Zürich LSZH (bigger HUB)

They all are fine on performance while giving good details.

I'd wait with Zurich as there is v3 coming out soon

Hi Stan, yes it is, just logged in and a new installer is available for use with v5, though I haven't gone to v4 yet so can't advise on how it performs

Cheers

Great.  I'll buy it today.  I love flying into or from Liverpool and Manchester.

Hi All,

I'm looking at Drzewiecki Design's NY Airports v2 as it seems like a bargain for all three airports. I was wondering if anyone could comment on these. I use the freeware versions which are not very good as well, they're freeware,

I bought Flightbeam KDEN and IAD, I'm refraining from KSFO as V3 is underway.

Any thoughts on Drzewiecki Design? I just want to get a footing in the US with my QW787 and FSL A320

Cheers,

Canine

Great.  Not only did I buy Manchester today from UK2000, but I also bought Liverpool.  Both have V5 installers and they are pretty good looking renditions of the airports.  Liverpool even has the "Yellow Submarine" in the background.

I have Digital Design's Liverpool (for P3dv4) but when I used it, it was quite "buggy" for me.  I had to re-install it every few days because it reverted back to the default airport for whatever reason...I couldn't figure it out, and I even emailed Digital Design.  They never got back to me anyway.

So, thanks to you and Ray Proudfoot for turning me on to UK2000.  It really fills  the need for UK airports at a very reasonable price.

DD's NY airports are not quite 'lite' version, but they're certainly not to the standard of Flightbeam, etc.  They are usable and for JFK, LGA and TEB together, the price is right.  As of today, they aren't yet updated for v5, but DD has been moving quickly with updates and the NYC airports look like they may be next? They did NY city scenery.  Here's the v5 update progress list:

http://drzewiecki-design.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=465&sid=9191f0d386896d0ae9ea0e32b76e1e56

The NY airports are definitely better than the demos, but they're not perfect and not super detailed.  Inibuilds has some dynamic lighting updates for some of them (LGA at least) that improve the night lighting, though haven't tried any inibuilds in v5 yet so unsure of the future of those.

It comes in 2 packages if you want LGA, EWR, JFK.

I personally get better performance in FSDT KJFK and I like their texture more.

Also, Imaginesim for LGA is superior by the looks and texturing (I don't own it but went through reviews)

DD is better for JFK in terms of updates to terminals etc.  Imaginsim better for LGA.  Without question you should get DD New York X for the buildings however.

OK Thanks guys, I'm actually more interested in Newark, as it is United Galore! Are there any better versions for that?

Sadly no. I've always wanted a good rendition of KEWR... As much as I dislike it as a passenger, I love it in the sim. I love the retro look of it and the layout, and due to its location the apporaches always give you fantastic views of NYC! Also, it generally performs better for me than JFK because it's a little further away from the city.

All in all, I do recommend DD's KEWR. It's definitely not the greatest addon around, but it does the job and there's nothing else around.

BTW... If you are still interested in European hubs, have you considered FlyTampa's EHAM? My home airport, it's a beautiful rendition of it. It's a little old now compared to FlyTampa's more recent releases, but still looks gorgeous. Thus it does not use FT's universal installer, doe snot have SODE goodies and PBR materials. But, still a wonderful addon!

Yeah, I was considerong FlyTampa aswell, but I had a decent freeware version. Guess I'll reconsider it!

What about DD Seattle airports. If you want your QW787,you can fly it from KPAE  it also has KSEA in it, and the other Boeing factories.

Would also give you the opertunity to stretch the QW787's legs either east or west
