It’s all good. I’ve thought about that but then why even bother with weather at that point. Things would be off fuel wise etc it’s not even worth it. Hopefully active sky can solve it back like the fsx days otherwise it’s another long wait for a hotfix etc

Sure. I keep checking the hifi forums but. Hang on a sec so do you lol

Lol yes sir, Facebook, their forums you name it, if they have the same issues I suppose we are stuck until the next hotfix and I wonder what the option will be lol.

All I remember is having the issue in FSX. Hifi was the first to fix it and then other developers eventually followed. I never had the issue in P3D until now, so I'm not sure if the coding was just so similar between FSX and earlier versions of P3D to where the fix carried over, or if earlier versions of P3D never had the issue to begin with. All I know is, it's back now, and it sucks.

FSGRW and Opus had no major issues with severe winds shifts in the V4 versions of their weather engines so far as I know. Something has changed in V5. FSGRW for P3DV5 has an option to disable winds aloft, and Opus posted a beta version of their FSI weather engine earlier today that also now adds the ability to turn off upper winds. As long as that option is enabled, both weather programs work well in V5 for everything else (clouds, temperatures, precipitation etc.) With upper winds turned off, surface winds still work in both programs without wind shifts.

What option in FSGRW is it?

Its in the P3D settings portion of FSGRW  Upper/high wind data, uncheck the box.

The temps and pressures and whatever else can be true to life, but without upper level winds...it's not a simulator.

VATSIM should disable connections from V5 until this is sorted out. This could be worse for online flight than XPlane slowing down the sim rate for users with low FPS.

Ok, uninstalled v5, deleted the shaders folder content and prepar3d.cfg and installed the HF1. Works as expected, all addons are there. BUT, and this is a very big BUT: those annoying, regular micro stutters are back. What a bummer. And this with the exact same settings as used before the hotfix. Enabling or disabling the new option to save VRAM does not do anything, enabling or disabling HT via AM does not do anything. It stutters. Regularly. I could vomit...

Same here, hugely disappointed. On top of micro stutters fps drops in urban areas - basically back to v4.5 behaviour. And all this with settings reduced compared to before HF1. Still trying to figure out why that happens, probably doing another clean reinstall today. It was too good without the HF to give up.

Simbol, sorry to say that I got rid of this issue deactivating your addon FSreborn. I spent all day till I found that something is wrong with your payware addon, at least on my system.

I am reporting this to LM, it happens if you had 5.0 then add 5.1 and you are using my FSREBORN scaling techniques which uses custom shaders.

To overcome it do this:

Open AI lights reborn professional, open the configuration page.

Set P3D default scaling techniques.

Restart P3D

Will be fine now.

Close P3D

Revert to FSREBORN scaling techniques

Open P3D

All will be fine.

It appears P3D doesn't compile shaders when you upgrade to the HF and you launch it the first time.

Please note this will affect PTA, Evenshade and REX skyforce too..

Regards,

Simbol

I've fixed mine independently this morning 🙂

V5 HF1 forgets the setting "Reset Camera on Joystick Release" in "Other Controls". I always have to tick it again when starting the sim.

This is a short clip I made in Squamish from ORBX. Those artefacts are there when I tick DTS. It's ok when DTS is not ticked. As it only happens in Squamish it may be an ORBX matter?

How? I want to put a sticky note on my forums

Shaders cleared, AILRP deactivated. (I deactivated all addons to be sure)

Reboot, established P3D loaded ok.

Reactivate AILRP, establish P3D still ok

Close P3D, scan AI and apply preferred settings

Load P3D, establish still ok

Thanks.. ok my steps are similar and don't require to de-activate.. so it confirms my finding.. if you had from V5 (prior HF1) then migrate to V5 HF1 shaders don't compile initially if an add-on.xml is registering shaders logical override.. I will report the bug and notify LM of the issue.

I posted a sticky note on my forums.. so far this only affects users that update to AILRP V5 prior to have the HF1. But it might affect also users with PTA, Evenshade, etc. in the future too..
