I spent all day till I found that something is wrong with your payware addon, at least on my system.

May 2, 20206 yr The wind shift bug is the only thing keeping me from uninstalling V4. After getting a taste of it, it's kind of depressing to have to go back to V4 to fly the FSL bus now. V5 looks and performs soooo much better. It looks like LM fixed a lot of stuff in this hotfix, so I'm kind of perplexed/annoyed that there was not even a MENTION of the wind shift bug - that is certainly more pressing than "Improved bridge and overpass handling for freeway traffic" and 95% of the other stuff they listed!!! I realize that the sim isn't capable of having real-world weather by default, but come on. They have clearly shown a commitment to 3rd party developers, so you'd think they'd make it a priority for you to be able to fly at 25,000 feet using real weather without stalling due to a 180-degree wind shift. I can only hope that they are in discussions with Hifi. Maybe they have passed the buck to them. Hifi fixed the FSX winds aloft bug nearly a decade ago...now we are all counting on them again. I tried to fly using opus today so it wasn’t great. Hifi was the first to fix it and then other developers eventually followed. I never had the issue in P3D until now, so I'm not sure if the coding was just so similar between FSX and earlier versions of P3D to where the fix carried over, or if earlier versions of P3D never had the issue to begin with. All I know is, it's back now, and it sucks. If using any please remove or disable , recheck. I have traffic global , not officially supported .It causes various CTD on last release took me a week to discover this , yet to test but want to make sure everything is fine with my install until trying hacks or non supported products . Then I know where the fault is . AIG does not yet work !! This build looks very promising . Clean install highly recommended and I mean clean install , remove those generated files ,shaders etc. That’s not a problem with Traffic Global’s v5 compatibility, CTDs are just a core feature of TG across all sims. Does the program also make traffic? Don’t know, never seen any, but it is an excellent generator of CTDs in v4 and v5. PMDG is a different story, I haven’t seen any CTDs with the NGXu in v5, great plane. This is from the opus forum: "OpusFSI Beta Version 6.09.03 is now available for download: Enabling the Wind Stabilisation option within the OpusFSI Weather Smoothing and Stabilisation dialog will now fix all upper winds to a speed of 2 knots. This option is intended to completely neutralise all wind shifts within the P3D v4 and v5 simulators. Surface winds and upper wind directions are unaffected. Only the upper wind speed is affected. Modified cloud layering in P3Dv5 where appropriate (not where CBs or TCUs are present) to prevent the silly and totally unrealistic cloud overlap P3Dv5 Settings errors."

That sounds like a work-around, not a fix. What happens when you try to fly on VATSIM with a 2-knot wind and the guy behind you in sequence has a 100-knot tailwind because his sim actually supports real-world weather? I’ve thought about that but then why even bother with weather at that point. Things would be off fuel wise etc it’s not even worth it. Hopefully active sky can solve it back like the fsx days otherwise it’s another long wait for a hotfix etc 9800x3d | 64GB DDR5 6000 Ram |MSI Gaming Trio OC 5090 @ 3.0GHZ | X870e Mag Tomahawk | 2x 2TB M.2 | Lian LI Dynamic XL ROG Case | Hotas Warthog Joystick and Throttle, Crosswind Rudder Pedals | Corsair Nightblade | K95 RGB| | LG 28" 4k, Dell 34" AW3420DW Ultrawide| Windows 10 Pro | MSFS2024 | Custom Water Loop |
