November 16, 200619 yr Could it be tied to the 2d panel transparency settings? I don't touch mine.BTW it happens on FSX default planes and FS9 imported planes, even ones without a VC.Perhaps a genius like the one that solved the seasonal CTDs in FS9 will step forward with the solution.Lee Lee H i9 13900KF 64GB Ram 24GB RTX 4090
November 16, 200619 yr Author First, in my case the problem is with FSX defaults as well as FS9 panels. Used different Nvidia drivers but problem remains. I have a 7600GS and using the 91.47 drivers. I thought this was only my problem but now the word is getting out and I no longer feel alone. I am confident that with the great minds on this forum the problem will be resolved eventually. Thanks,Carl Carl PC AMD Ryzen R7-5700G (8-Core) processor), AMD Radeon RX 6600 Graphics 8GB/ 2TB HD + 500GB SSD, 16GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM, Win11 _____________________________________________________________________________________
November 16, 200619 yr Author Kenny G,I added an additional 1gig ram, which gives me 2gram; but, it did not help the 2d problem.Carl Carl PC AMD Ryzen R7-5700G (8-Core) processor), AMD Radeon RX 6600 Graphics 8GB/ 2TB HD + 500GB SSD, 16GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM, Win11 _____________________________________________________________________________________
November 16, 200619 yr What default planes? Rigth now never happenned with dds textures only bmp textures. I have a feelling that doesn't happen in planes with dds textures.Jos
November 17, 200619 yr Well, the above photo is taken in one of the default 737-800s with dds textures. Must be something else.Lee Lee H i9 13900KF 64GB Ram 24GB RTX 4090
November 17, 200619 yr Hi AllI found the problem appears to pop up when flying some of the default, but mostly with my only payware the Eaglesoft SR20.The plane which appears not to be affected by this problem is the default Cessna 172,I am going to leave a post on the Eaglesoft Forum looking for some feedback. If I hear anything will get back to you.Kenny G.
November 17, 200619 yr In XL20 plane you can load her in VC and usually the problem doesn't appear.Jos
November 17, 200619 yr Kenny, from our forums. Posted by Jose...DISPLAY.Device.NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS .0] RenderToTexture=1 Mode=1280x1024x32
November 21, 200619 yr I have tried the suggestions posted here and some of the fixes for FS2004. I have tried a couple of 3rd party weather programs. I have tried a number of versions for my ATI 9700 card and various FSX display settings. I still have the issue when using User Defined Weather. The only way I have been able to correct the 2d Panel issue is to clear the weather or use the weather capabilities internal to FSX. I have not seen any posts since the 17th when Ron posted the RenderToTexture=1 fix. Has anyone had success fixing this issue ?Regards,J
November 21, 200619 yr Nothing new to report here. Just noticed that eveyone in this thread is running Nvidea except the ATI 9700 above.Interesting that we cannot duplicate this using ATI X800 Pro???It's an odd one for sure:-)
November 21, 200619 yr I do have an ATI X800XT 256Mb (Catalyst 6.09) and it happens to me too, but only with some payware planes, always in bad weather.Pietro
November 21, 200619 yr Ron, apparently there has been a spate of new ATI Cat driver releases in the last few weeks as I had upgraded to 6.09 the day I installed FSX :)However, the latest I see are Cat 6.11 released on Nov 15, 2006. Where did you get the 6.14?Pietro.
November 21, 200619 yr http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/161697.gifNot sure, just noticed it has an old date:-)
November 21, 200619 yr There seems to be a variety of version numbers associated with Radeon drivers. My X800 GT card with Catalyst 6-9 installed reports a driver version of 8.291.0.0 in one place, and 6.14.10.6635 in another.I have also seen (or not seen) the disappearing 2D panels. I was able to duplicate the effect by setting visibility to 5 or less, almost every time. I found that the "RenderToTexture" line did nothing but I have had good results with PanelAsTexture=0 instead, inserted in the same place.I do not know what side effects there may be with this adjustment so be careful: USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.Regards,Rick
