October 19, 200619 yr Sure need hlep on this one...This is crazy but I lost my 2D panels and subpanels when I download static or dynamic real weather. I show the scenery but not the 2d panel which is a black space on the monitor. Tried the F10, W and all the other stuff. If I go back to "world - weather and use "weather themes" the 2D panel and sub panels all work. I have tried 2d panel as being the default, same problem. The VC works with no problem with or without using "real weather". Like I said this is crazy. October 19, 200619 yr Same here. It's not just with the Real or Themes though. With me it's when it's cloudy and only when pointing in some directions. It's weird and maybe something to do with video cards. I've a Radeon 9600 256Mb, but I've got the latest drivers so maybe not the card after all?
October 19, 200619 yr Author I have an EVGA 7600GS PCIe with latest drivers, so two different cards. I noticed that on occasions the 2D will reappear for a short time. When I was using real weather it was cloudy and ready to rain at KTYS. May find a sunny spot and see what happens. Sorry but at least I am not the only one that is experiencing this problem.Dell E510,P4-3.4GHZ, 2Gram, 7600 GS pice Carl PC AMD Ryzen R7-5700G (8-Core) processor), AMD Radeon RX 6600 Graphics 8GB/ 2TB HD + 500GB SSD, 16GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM, Win11 _____________________________________________________________________________________
October 20, 200619 yr Good, in the nicest possible way! We can't be the only two in that case. Hopefully someone else can cast light on this.
October 20, 200619 yr Author I tried real weather at a clear location and the 2D panels did not disappear. Could the weather have something to do with this. Who knows.?? November 15, 200619 yr Hi All:Thank God it is just not me with this problem.I just sent out a thread on this forum and active sky.I just installed Active Sky with registered version FS4.02 and got the exact same results with the panel disappearing.I have a brand new computer with GF7950.Like others have said it appears to only happen when I use Active Sky or the default weather engine and there is a thick cloud cover.Hopefully someone will be able to give us some direction in correcting this problem. The problem does not just occur with one particular aircraft, I purchased Eaglesoft payware SR 20 and it had the same result.Kenny G.

November 16, 200619 yr A customer had this problem with our Liberty XL2 any time his visibility setting was < than 10 NM....turned out to be a video/driver issue if I recall:(
November 16, 200619 yr Yes, I've been running into that problem too specifically on the 2D panels. It's when you have lower visibility. I have a Dual Core with Nvidia 7950 GT card. Overall pretty good performance except for this glitch. Hopefully MS, or someone, will solve it.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/161276.jpgLee Lee H i9 13900KF 64GB Ram 24GB RTX 4090
November 16, 200619 yr During a while I thought that the problem was solved by a rendertotexture switch but it wasn't, I was fooled by the way the problem appears. It happens in all FS9 compiled aircraft that I tested and it doesn't happen in FSX compiled aircraft. I
November 16, 200619 yr I have had it too. Mostly during appr finals..At first I got the black panel with F1 C172 a couple of times, but twice also with FSX's own CRJ700. I have DualCore and GF7900Gt with newest drivers.Petteri PulkkinenFinland
November 16, 200619 yr >It happens in all FS9 compiled aircraft that I tested and it>doesn't happen in FSX compiled aircraft. I think you may be on to something here.It also happened to me with the Realair Sf260, never happened with default FSX planes, and it only appears with reduced visibility. And the problem comes and goes, sometimes it goes away by itself, sometimes it sticks. On the other hand I'm wondering, may this have something to do with the fact that the ATC window goes blank now and then (the lower part where you can select your options), and only in bad weather?I have an ATI X800XT with catalyst drivers v6.9. November 16, 200619 yr HiExactly the same problem using Real Weather.I have a 6800gt and lose the 2D panel in low vis - fog/mist.I've tried varying the display settings but it doesn't seem tied to fps. These varied quite widely but still the problem.Aces?Chris
