Then with that established, what is the exact harm when they go above and beyond many other companies in keeping us informed, in saying thankyou?

I'm not surprised to hear from someone being in the Alpha that they are very happy with how they've been kept informed.

The interesting part about that is we are essentially seeing just exactly what you have already been told.

As an Alpha & Beta for other MS products, as well as for other developers, I am also very happy that I've been kept informed by them. Nothing new there. That's what I signed up for, I certainly do not post in forums that I'm thankful for what has been shown, but then,....

So sweet thanking a game developing company to giving some us us an unfinished alpha release (so far) & releasing teasers.

Seriously? I wonder if this is unique to Avsimmers that they thank game developers for forthcoming games? I wonder if the train guys thanked Dovetail for their train simulators.

Again, Seriously?????

You are totally correct,

We have seen nothing as far as a finished product. I will thank them with money if the product lives up to all the hype on this forum. It is so totally crazy here, and very amusing to read stuff like this.

Would you agree that it's quite challenging to take someone's (you don't know) subjective experience and accept it as yours?

I've been wondering what the NDA states about giving comments about the state of the Alpha in public forums 😃

But that's a diversion from the subject of this thread, which is about saying thank you, something most us say automatically for the smallest of reasons as a matter of general politeness, but which is somehow objectionable in this instance.

If I had to answer, I would say that others subjective experience is all you've got, either from the testers or the company or maybe some leaks. Its all most of us have ever had.

I guess that's why we are called individuals. You don't believe people should post such things? I don't believe the community has to be so ungrateful.

I would guess it says nothing, if the information is stuff the company has already provided, or is simple common sense.

I don´t get it, what´s the point in this conversation ? The MSFS 2020 is not out yet, all information what has been published is just bits and pieces ? Still people are in gratitude to Microsoft/Asubo ? Why don´t just chill for a while and wait and see what kind of product the MSFS 2020 really is, I´m checking it out, mainly because of PMDG 747 series, which is my favorit plane. The X-Plane 11 lacks of quality airliner´s (I´m avare of ZIBO Mod), it is focused more to General Avition. There are good planes, like Airfoillabs King Air 350. The ATC in MSFS, I hope that it is not improved version of FSX ATC, which was horrible. It made to climb and decent and turn all the time and sometime it flew me in to sea.

When first saw the post I thought the whole thing was already released!. The wait is not over yet, regretfully.

Meanwhile, just enjoy your sims.

Well I also don't get it either. Asobo/Microsoft have shared an unprecedented amount of info they did not have to, and that most companies don't; at least not in such volume and detail, and somebody said thanks.

Which is apparently controversial.

One wonders how people would react if Asobo said to hell with it, and just went back to a more accepted traditional pace of information release?

I can already see the threads.........

Not controversial to me. The contoversial bit is how some people work so hard in trying to establish MS marketing strategy as them simply wanting to share content to us for no particular reason. And we should show gratitude to that (Otherwise we are being ungrateful?)

Of course they have a reason. Probably several. One of them being a reaction to previous complaints during MSFlight of the company being uninformative. So now they make a conscious decision to reverse course on that, and apparently deserve no credit.

Yep sama thought came to me, just plain old marketing strategy. This whole conversation resembles bunch of kids arguing in sandbox, whose dad is strongest.
