Many of you heaping pre-mature praise here will be some of the first complaining after release!

it doesn’t have this or that, it has bugs, it doesn’t have a particular plane, etc.

I will be heaping praise well after the final product releases if warranted.
I’m praising a car manufacturer for the next car I haven’t bought yet.

Yep! Major kudos to everyone at Asobo Studios, Xbox Games Studios and Microsoft. Due to a peculiar reason I accidentally came across flight sims (FS 2004) more than a decade ago and have bought and used pretty much every major flight sim software since then. Going by the official screenshots and videos of this new MSFS 2020 flight sim, I have to say it's very probably going to be a phenomenal, never-seen-before experience for both experienced simmers and newcomers. Don't know about others but personally for me it's literally a dream come true.

This post is also my first one on here. Joined AvSim back in August 2019 but not sure why I never posted anything.

I just want to say thank you when the official release date is announced.

I sometimes sit and think that just over a year from now I was imagining that we might never see a new iteration of Flight Simulator.

I got in at FS98 then 2000, then FS9 which was may favourite then FSX and now P3D. Its been a great journey...

We are at a watershed moment we know that deep down. Yes its for once a perfect storm of the right technology Asobo being French and probably stubborn in this case for all the right reasons and having that European flair and Microsoft that has changed in their thinking over the past decade. Somebody up top made a great call back in 2016 and we will see such an incredible advancement of our beloved simming world that has been overdue... I do feel it will be a game changer and I cant fault one bit how they have all been so transparent and open. Yes we all have lots of questions and I am sure they will give us all the answers soon enough. I cant wait . I decided not to get involved with the Alpha as I want to wait for a more polished experience. Thank our lucky stars its not Star Citizen as we would be saying MFS2023.

Its wonderful to say Thank You... Just the undulating runways gets me so excited...

Defintely agree. Cant share anything due to NDA, but seriously though the sim is going to blow people's mind. The fact that you can actually EXPLORE our planet is such a huge generational leap.

Honestly cant wait for the NDA to be lifted so I can share hundreds of screenshots I took in the past two days. Also lots of 3rd party devs will finally be able share what they're working on. Its going to be a gigantic influx of cool stuff to drool over the next few months.

Thank you Asobo & Microsoft.

Happy Flying !!

So, did you become an alpha tester for bragging rights & to post pictures? or have you actually done any testing & reporting back, as alpha testers do??

I suppose that the NDA precludes any actual truth!

Who says you cant enjoy the sim while testing it? I have already submitted over 20 tickets in last two days. Since I am from southeast asia, the bing coverage is not particularly spectacular here, I am compiling a list of bugs in the scenery as we speak. Its already 2 pages long and includes 15 or so airports too. Just dont assume stuff. It makes you look stupid.

As for bragging rights and posting pictures, I am just going to ignore you said that. Obviously you are trying to stir something here and I will not fall for the bait.

You have already, & that's how you have come across. Anyway, well done for your 2 pages of bugs & 20 tickets.

Another thread gone off the rails, people can't just let others be happy, they have to chime in & rationalize why waiting for the release of the game is quintessential before displaying any sort of hurrah moment. If that's how you want to be until the game releases, fine do your thing, jus don't be a party pooper for the ones who choose not to think like you.

If people are so perturbed about simply saying thank you here, I can just imagine how they would react to some of the love letters being written by testers!

A small correction, as far as I remember for FS1 on an Apple 2 it was 2 FPS.  But yes! FS20 is the sim what we were dreaming for in these days. Now, then again, I say that for each version 🤣 !

I don't think we had even heard the term frames per second back then. And when we did, whoever was talking about it was talking about the speed of a movie projector.
