October 21, 200619 yr BIG difference. Can you activate and de-activate individual cities in FSX? What was the difference in fps?billg
October 21, 200619 yr Please add me to the stupid list, because I don't see your point either. Yes they are different and I assume that the top one is FS9 material. October 21, 200619 yr Hi Allen -The second pic looks a lot better! I don't have the retail yet butI would like to know how you added/activated the better texturesfor under the airport. Can they be imported from FS9 or are theyin FSX and just not 'added/activated'?Thanks | Dave | I've been around for most of my life. There's always a sunset happening somewhere in the world that somebody is enjoying.
October 21, 200619 yr While FSX is active you can go to World/Scenery/Library and activate the city of your choice (one at a time) by showing it the path to FS9 / Scenery/ Cities/@@@@@ and I guess it will activate (checkmarks) itself fronm thence. You can the deactivate it later (or delete it, where it only deletes the scenery path not any files) if you dont like what it does, and then continue playing again without re-loading.In FSX you dont have to reload the sim to see the diference. It is sort of "plug-and-play scenery".allen
October 21, 200619 yr I have to jump in here since some people aren't seeing what's going on here. Both shots are FSX, the one with no texture is the default FSX KORD, shot two with the photoreal airport textures is the FS9 version of KORD in FSX, please folks look at the pics again, it's there and it's HUGE. I didn't realize this until now, I'll be reporting this to ACES shortly via the tellfs support address.Jeff Jeff Commercial | Instrument | Multi-Engine Land AMD 5600X, RTX3070, 32MB RAM, 2TB SSD
October 21, 200619 yr what are you reporting to ACES? That the new airport environment is not photo real? They have already told us that they didn't put photoreal airports in FSX, because the older textures were not good enough for the new higher terrain texture. And that they didn't have time to redo them!
October 21, 200619 yr another there is some border creation between tile types if you look closely...but the highways/freeways/roads connect between the two quite well, although it is hard to see in this pic. No noticed fps drop.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/159303.jpg
October 21, 200619 yr I see, as long as they know about it, i though they had left it out accidentally.Jeff Jeff Commercial | Instrument | Multi-Engine Land AMD 5600X, RTX3070, 32MB RAM, 2TB SSD
