June 24, 20205 yr Wanted to see if anybody could help me. Was successfully running HF1 since it came out. No issues at all. When I installed HF1 I had uninstalled the whole program and reinstalled the whole HF1. Then today I uninstalled P3D Academic (Whole thing). Reinstalled HF2 whole thing. The first initial flights I was able to spawn. Then any intial flight after that would ctd right away when going from 99% scenario load to 100%. Some came up with the DXGI Error Hung. Others were just a complete CTD and I had to reboot windows. I tried clearing shaders and deleting the P3d.cfg and reloading with stock settings. Still CTD. I tried restoring NCP to default. Still CTD. I tried reinstalling my 446.14 driver CTD. Tried the pre-release 450.99. CTD. My 1080Ti is not overclocked. Error Codes in event viewer have been 1 of 2 things. -Failed with 0x57 retrieving AppModel Runtime status for package Windows. -Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered. Then I completely uninstalled HF2. Installed HF1 again. All was working in good order. I then tried to uninstall just the client and reinstall the HF Client Only. Exactly the same. So what gives here? My hardware is in my signature. And I'm running -2004 of Win 10. 5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW and 2 22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU, 360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next
June 24, 20205 yr Have you disabled all add-ons? Do you have anything that loads via dll.xml? I'd consider using DDU to remove all remnants of old vid drivers and only THEN reinstall 446.14 driver. Any clues in the event logs? I too have a 1080ti but I haven't had time to install HF2 yet. I am running 446.14 driver with the old build of Win10. 1904 or whatever it is named. June 24, 20205 yr Author I haven't had a chance to disable all addons. that will certainly be an eventual path for me to test. That's just the one I least want to go down right now. The only nice thing here is I can bounce back to HF1 and all is good. I'm not skilled enough with the event logs to know how to look deeper other than what I posted above. Any tips? And thanks for the reply 5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW and 2 22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU, 360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next
June 24, 20205 yr Author I also see that on the 0X57 errors The Source is AppModel-Runtime Event ID 65 On the nvlddmkm it's Source : Display Event ID 4101 if that helps 5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW and 2 22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU, 360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next
June 24, 20205 yr Yeah same here. HF1 was fine but HF2 was frequent DXGI error at the default airport. Zicheng Cai
June 24, 20205 yr Author yeah. So weird. For me it's a CTD every single load even with default settings. I figured by now I would have got to the bottom of it. It's especially surprising since HF1 was rock solid stable for me. 5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW and 2 22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU, 360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next
June 24, 20205 yr The thing about using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) was the main point I wanted to make. Did you try using DDU? It's a lot easier than messing with add-ons and it has a chance to do some good things. As for eventvwr typically it might point you in the direction of hardware fault, or driver fault, or application fault, or OS fault, depending on what is there at the exact timestamp when the crash occurred. In my case with HF1 when it crashed it did not CTD, it hard locked the system and I had to reset the machine and eventvwr wasn't exactly very helpful. That hard lockup resulted in some (minor) data loss one time, so I haven't been without my trials and tribulations with HF1 or RTM. If DDU doesn't work then the recent thread about TDRLevel / TDRDelay might help you? I'm about the install HF2 so...wish me luck with my 1080ti. June 24, 20205 yr Author good luck Mace. Please report back. I didn't do the DDU but will. June 24, 20205 yr Author sorry guys. I had two successful starts right out of the gate. Just like the last time. But now 4 instant CTD's again. Not sure what is going on. June 24, 20205 yr Moderator Did you delete your prepar3d.cfg file and shaders. The error you show is an Nvidia Driver error. Use DDU to clean up and try rolling back or forward to another driver. You need rto get the sim stable without addons and then add them back until you track down the one that doesn't like HF2. The easiest way is to go to the addon section of the P3D options and uncheck them all. Or do whatever is easiest for you. Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
