vgbaron.  Truly appreciate the reply, but all this is answered above.  Yes I did DDU.  And tried various drivers.  However i'm pretty certain in Win 10 you can't use older than my current 446.14.  I even tried the pre release 450.99.  But I haven't tried your addon point yet.  I will get to that later.  Thanks for the reply.

Did you run it in Safe Mode?  It should always be run in Safe Mode... that's the only way to insure your next driver install is truly clean.

Ok if it were me, at that point, I would go with a stock P3D install (no add-ons) and see if I could get a stability starting-point that way.

BTW I did download HF2 but I am now too tired and didn't get around to installing it.

I am running into lots of Kernalbase ctd's with this new hotfix. Kernalbase usually means the computer is being pushed to hard, right?

I have had bunch of same CTD with HF1 and now with 2. Based CTD guide such error means there is something wrong with your system like windows. There are some steps in that guide you may try to do to troubleshoot it. It didn’t help me though. I checked my PC with specialists and everything checked out ok. I have no problem with other heavy games, just with this sim which I start to hate so much.

I9-13900K | ASUS ROG Strix Z790-E Gaming LGA 1700 | MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 4090 24GB | CORSAIR iCUE H150i ELITE LCD Liquid Cooler | CORSAIR DOMINATOR PLATINUM 64GB (2X36) 5200MHx DDR5 | Thermaltake GF3 1650W 80+ Gold PSU | Samsung QN90C Neo QLED TV 50”

I'm running into kernelbase crashes in HF2 aswell. Also in HF1. It happens when switching to another airport, or adjusting an options menu item like simobjects slider, and returning  back to the sim. Occasionally i get a crash with an  "unknown" faulting module.

I've run sfc /scannow, and there are no issues to report. I have torture tested my gpu and cpu with varying number of benchmarking programs with no issues. I have no crashes with any other programs or games, including RDR2 which is arguably one of the heaviest games out right now that runs DX12.

Tired of people saying that my 8 year old cpu is the problem, when its a greater probability that Windows 10 DX12 itself is totally bugged, the latest Nvidia driver is probably a hack, or, the most probable culprit is P3Dv5 HF2 itself. P3Dv4.5 was completely stable for me and never crashed.

I’m currently in the middle of the 5 hour chkdisk process. There are a few things that came up during the initial scan, so I hoping that this fixes it.

There is really no sneaking suspicion for you that V5 is still crashing on your rig, even after two updates that it IS your setup in the end?

Whats so different on our systems that the majority of the users can use this "BETA crapola V5" without CTDs?

What are you talking about? There are plenty of people having CTD ever since V5 was released.

These "plenty of people" are in reality a minority. If the majority had CTD issues the forums would literally explode.

Like literally the LM Client App support forum has crash thread on almost every line.

No problem whatsoever here in HF2. And I didn't see a single crash while flying in HF1 (I had some regular ones while messing, saving in UI though). This may lead you to realize there's a problem somewhere on your side. Even though I'm on I9 9900K and GTX2080Ti I use medium settings in P3Dv5 with a lot of ORBX TE and AEROSOFT airports flying PMDG  and AS AIRBUS.

O boy...there are indeed a lot of CTD reports on LM site. I actually had 1 CTD on HF2 with the device hung message prior of it. And I am running a decent system. V5HF1 was very stable, not 1 CTD.

Just finished a flight from EDDF/GCLP and no problems so far.

I am very curiuous how this will end up.....HF3?

Ok Let's start troubleshooting this. I am keeping Lockheed Martin aware of these crashes and errors, however we need to try to narrow down what is causing the issue in your end so we can provide more data to them. We had plenty of beta testers with 1080TI and nobody presented these errors.

Might I ask you what antivirus solution are you using? we saw yesterday (24 / June) some new Windows 10 updates that are causing certain antivirus and security products to inject wrong behaviours to the operating system, causing not only CTD but also programs unable to perform normal and simple tasks as closing a window. So I am wondering if you are just one of those users affected by an antivirus product going wrong.

So first things to do:

  • Let me know what antivirus you use.

  • Launch P3D As administrator and see if this reduces the CTD - This is to test how security is behaving in your system or if you have an ad-on that is having a conflict due to this.

  • Disable temporally all add-ons. This will remove any factor related to 3rd party causing the crash.

  • Set effects details to minimum and distance to minimun, let me know if this makes a difference.

  • Are you enabling / disabling hardware video acceleration via registry keys? if so return this back to default.

- Windows Defender - But turned it of at my first flight with stock F22 on Addon LPPT MK Studios

- I always launch P3D as Admin

- Will test P3D without any addons

- Will test also effect details minimum and distance minimum

- No enabling/disabling video acc. via registry keys. All default

Interesting was the device hung message. During crash my VRAM was at 9.1 GB at my RTX Titan 24GB card. Utilizing round about 40 / 60 percent

I choose "cancel" at the device hung message. So that is why P3D shut down.

Eventviewer showed me a kernelbase.dll error. I am aware that this could mean some instable hardware issues and will try to turn down OC from 5.1 to 4.9 and set my GFX Card to stock clocks instead of 8000MhZ. My CPU is NEVER maxed out.
