Embargo lifts at 8am UK time on Friday

Recommended Posts

I watched the polish guy with the 787 last night and the autopilot was OK. I haven't noticed any oscillations.

The NDA is not lifting on testing, only those content creators with specific permission and logo free installations are allowed to stream before the 18th August. That's it, no exceptions.

Chewwy is getting 25 to 30 FPS on the ground and he said on the stream he is running at 2K resolution. He said most settings are at high and medium. He also said he did not optimize his settings yet. As per Chewwy's page, his computer is:

CPU: Intel i9-9900K (OC @ 5.1 GHz)
GPU: Zotac Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080Ti
MOBO: ASUS Maximus XI Hero: RoG
RAM: 32GB G.Skill Trident Z DDR4 4000MHz
OS: Windows 10 (64 bit)
Storage: 2x NVMe SSD's, 1TB & 2TB Samsung 860 Evo SSD's
Cooling: Custom Water Cooling System
Case: Fractal Design R2

Edit: Chewwy says the heavy cloud cover may be impacting the FPS

I must say I generally find the complexity of these airliners quite reasonable for default planes. If they only get the AP working.

I assume he is running at Ultra settings

He just said mostly at high or medium settings. I hope the streaming is taking some frames because those frames aren't too inspiring if not.

Correct. I corrected my original comment.

Anyways, that FPS is not good because Chewwy has an expensive rig. He did say that he didn't optimize the settings yet for FPS performance but still, I expected better performance than that from his computer.

The fps is dropping below 20 while taxiing at Heathrow on his pc with Medium-High settings. I guess we'll all have to wait for the next gen hardware to run this beast. So no news on the flight sim front lmao.

Just wait until you're on final on a pmdg plane with Aerosoft scenery where your pc is also trying to render reflections on the pens sitting on the  terminal's car rental booth. We ain't seen nothing yet.

He's getting an improvement in FPS whenever he's not in the cockpit (e.g. outside views).  All those 787 glass panels and HUD must have some performance cost associated with them.  Would be nice if some could be switched off to improve in high stress situations.

As I'm not into the heavies, I'm hoping it's all the glass displays in the 787 that's causing the bulk of the frames issues (if it's not the streaming software).
