XBOX for FS 2020

Featured Replies

I would love to go XBOX for FS 2020, but what about all of the USB Flight hardware I own? IE  CH Products Yoke, Pedals and Throttle?? and GoFlight LGT??

The controller for XBOX is adequate but nowhere near the realism of the above USB hardware..

Thoughts?

Thanks!

A little premature. The MS team leader has clearly said few days ago that there was no date for a release of a console version. See at the 57’ mark. Note that they were a little embarrassed answering the question.

Simming since 1981 -  [email protected] GHz with 16 GB of RAM and a 1080 with 8 GB VRAM running a 27" @ 2560*1440 - Windows 10 - Warthog HOTAS - MFG pedals - MSFS Standard version with Steam

I'm sure the peripherals will work with the xbox. MS wouldn't have put them as supported in the sim if that was the case. What I'm wondering is how will folks that take that route be able to attach multiple monitors/tvs if thats what they like. I mean the new xbox would be far cheaper than a tricked out computer but not for a serious simmer if it can't support everything a simmer needs.

I just use one large 55” 4K TV.  Because of the multi monitor issues I had with FSX.

My other big issue is for FS 2020 is ATC.  X-Plane is awesome except Austin Meyer has missed implementing an realistic ATC  feature for 20 years!  MS FSX ATC is at least done a minimally acceptable job.

Any thoughts?

I suspect thrustmaster or similar will launch a set of flight controls for Xbox along the lines of their car wheels.

I’m very interested to learn how the Xbox version pans out too. I work away from home for extended periods, so to take an Xbox with me and be able to run MSFS in my downtime would be amazing. I’d be able to make do with a cheaper, more portable peripheral setup, but just wouldn’t be happy with a joypad alone.

5950X, RTX3090, 32GB@3600, Samsung Evo NVME 1TB, Warthog HOTAS, MFG Crosswinds, Reverb G2.

My question is since I been looking at videos with 4K ultra settings and usually the video card is a RTX2080 to achieve 30fps in dense area, how will Xbox manage that?

Asobo in the interview are under NDA with MS on the XBOX version that would let the cat out of the bag, Phil Spencer will do that soon i think that`s why MS wanted MSFS released and out in the media to soon i think, so they can now start cranking up the media with the new XBOX launch but that`s my opinion we will soon know.

Spend a dollar on the MS game pass and start flying MSFS with your peripherals tomorrow,

IF you buy it through MS store and/or get the combined PC/Xbox version, you can still fly MSFS xbox in the future.

But if you want to fly with peripherals, Xbox is not the way to go. That's for sitting on the couch chilling with a standard xbox controller. I'm going to do that, but only occasionally and it's not going to be something I take seriously.

I expect FS2020 will be available at launch for Xbox Series X.

However, that system doesn't yet have a release date or price announced. That has to happen first.

XBOX Series X should be the perfect platform for FS2020.  Around Thanksgiving I heard.  Going to be hard to get.

Cheers

Is there any good demo FS 2020 videos that highlight any new features of ATC?

“Without hardware acceleration, this work could have been done in the shaders, but would have consumed over 13 TFLOPs alone,” Xbox system architect Andrew Goossen tells the site. “For the Series X, this work is offloaded onto dedicated hardware and the shader can continue to run in parallel with full performance. In other words, Series X can effectively tap the equivalent of well over 25 TFLOPs of performance while ray tracing.”

Existing USB devices that work on Windows 10 will work.
