August 17, 20205 yr They acknowledged the issue in the beta. I'm sure it's coming as a feature on the G1000.

So the next question is what does North American ATC provide? Inches I would hope since that is what is in use, but some of the ATC speak is, well, foreign, if you live and fly over hear. LOL! I did not find any specific MSFS library. Did I miss it? Frank, I honestly do not know. I haven't been to the Library in years! Seriously. I'll go find the file and provide a link to it on the T&T post.. Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator

The ATC is predominataley North American in phraseology, just as it was in FSX. You think it sounds foreign to you, it's postively alien to the rest of the world that doesn't ignore ICAO... ckyliu, proud supporter of ViaIntercity.com. i5 12400F, 32GB, RTX4070, more in "About me" on my profile.

Looked in the Utilities library and also did a global search from the top of the library. August 20, 20205 yr Moderator I have not checked myself as of this evening. I'll make a note to check for it in the morning. Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
August 20, 20205 yr Wow this seems a pretty big omission. It’s not just about what is shown on the aircraft. ATC, weather etc all use this, and it should be selectable. Given the majority of the worlds actually uses hPa/mbs, if they’re only allowing one system, shouldn’t it be this one? Sometimes it seems like Asobo, never even started FSX/P3D/XP to see what was already there... Edited August 20, 20205 yr by norman_99
August 20, 20205 yr It seems likely to me that they opted for one system due to the weather engine. As far as I'm aware they grab their wx data from a third party and if there reports are only in one format then that could be why. Although I don't understand why they didn't convert it. No matter how difficult that would be it is a fundamental part of aviation and as said above I am quite surprised it was overlooked until beta.
August 20, 20205 yr Commercial Member As I recall, it is the same with ESP internal code and simply converted. I'll bet Asobo either has the road mapped or will leave it to 3rd party devs to do.
