In the cockpit I get this big fat label saying what a knob does. I want to to turn it off, but cannot find anything about it in the settings... Any tips?

None that I know. Disregard. Posters below found the solution.

This should work...

On the main home screen select options at the top, the select general, accessibility, then the show tool tips tab to show it or remove it

same. I think this is not implemented to hide them unless there is a control key to do it...

It is a bug. Maybe someone finds the time to report it.

I think I have turned everything off in Assistance but they still show it makes setting the Garmin G1000 menu very difficult

Hi All,

It seems dat for whatever reason you can't turn it off in the SIM direclty.

However I found this free addon that does the trick.

Enjoy!

I found a (seemingly) better option than the msfs addons link above. This one allows you to quickly toggle the tooltips on and off, which is helpful for certain cockpit dials when trying to enter a specific value (Baro, FLC speed, etc).

The below is from the Mod ReadMe, but I don't understand what the "default monstrous" nameplates are. And do the F11/F12 control keys work? I don't see anything changing when using these keys.

Thanks,

Al

uimod-mugz-tinyplates: This is tiny nameplates to replace the default monstrous ones. In addition, added functionality to turn it on/off on the fly by button: F12 - off, F11 - on.

this is for the traffic nameplates, so if you already have those turned off it wouldn't do anything. The github I linked is for a pack of mods, one of those is for the tooltips The one you're talking about is the traffic/multiplayer nameplates
