Download repeats same file over and over

Hi,

right now I am trying to install MSFS from Germany. But I am stuck at 24 % because "fs-base-0.1.61.fspackage.004" doesn't complete. Every time it downloads about a few 100 MBs of that file then starts from the beginning. I already tried restarting the installer and restarting my PC. Nothing seems to help. Any advice?

Had this happen with fs-base-0.1.61.fspackage.005 last night. It reset to an earlier point like two or three times in a row, and then it finally resumed. Sadly I can only suggest that you give it time and see how it goes.

If you can find the file in your installation folder (X:\WpSystem\S-1-5-21-3478569023-4011906951-532946707-1001\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Official\OneStore) you could try deleting it and have it start over.

Well, yes. It probably is a problem with server load. I checked the timestamp of the already loaded files and one folder with a size of 1 gb was saved 2 hours after the last one. So there probably was a lot of restarting too.

Update

It is finally done with fs-base-0.1.61.fspackage.004 and is doing the same with 005 now. So this clearly is a problem with microsoft server load.

How long did it take for your problem to solve?

Same problem here from an user from austria permanently reloading if you go to the ressource manager of windows 10 under network you can see which dl server is currently used i have big problems with "server-13-227-223-XX.ams54.r.cloudfront.net" the XX changes sometimes.

  • 5 weeks later...

I have this issue now with the newest patch.

I repeats to download the same packages (e.g. KDEN denver airport) hundreds of times...

Now i deinstalled and reinstalled, now it already stucks at "asobo flight tutorials basic instruments 0.1.22.fspackage" - again, repeating the download hundreds of times and never ends (from 38 MB to 70 MB - then again back to 38 MB)

Mine hung up like that for about an hour... then it powered through to the end. Annoying, but let it run.

I got halfway after 3 hours and then it looped on downloading the same package over and over. Then I got a message that my cache was not large enough to download, but it wouldn't let me update the cache. After several retries I threw in the towel, uninstalled and now downloading the whole bloody thing all over again. 8 hours total now and still only halfway....

In desperation I tried this "fix": Run CMD as administrator and type in:

netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal

Then press ok and reboot. This nearly doubled my download speed (it is still very slow) but at least I stopped getting the disconnection notice.

No joy Robert. Think I am getting hit by server overload, and my location. Had the same issue when MSFS was released. Might have to wait a couple of days.
