September 2, 20205 yr I have seen a fix/work-around posted for this somewhere if you search. 47 minutes ago, J0nx said: I just wish that F9 would actually stop the head tracking until I press it again. It only works for about 5 seconds and then resets the view forward. Makes it impossible for me to set and program the instruments while flying. Most annoying thing ever. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio. For the benefit of those that might read this late, this issue was fixed in the second patch. Pause no longer resets the view after 5-6 seconds. A welcome improvement. October 3, 20205 yr I have found since the latest update that Track IR will "go to sleep" if you use F9 to pause it and then don't come back to it for more than a few minutes (because you're in external view taking screenies!). It is not a USB power saving issue. If you find this happens to you then Alt+Enter to window MSFS then move around with Track IR until it wakes up and then Alt+Enter to full screen MSFS again.
October 3, 20205 yr I loved TrackIR in FSX, but since switching to the XBOX controller for MSFS, using the right thumbstick to look around is much more convenient. I installed the iPhone Facetrack tool (replaces TrackIR with no required hardware), and while it works flawlessly, there's just no reason for it anymore when being able to move your view with the thumbstick, the latter is much more natural. - Currently giving X-Plane 12.10 a spin on Shadow PC. 10 years with X-Plane now, since 10.20

Thank you so much for this. I actually put down my TrackIR because it would do this so much and just became more frustrating than enhancing. -Tyler Weber

Each to their own. Using an X box controller is playing a game. Flying with TrackIR and flight controllers is flight simulation. JMHO.
October 3, 20205 yr I'm flying across the Sahara Desert at the moment. The distances are huge. I'm landing in little oil field townships and climbing a dune and just gazing around with Track IR - it's incredible. Say, you couldn't point me in the direction of Tripoli could you please? There is some truth to your statement, however the only real flight control is a stick or a yoke, not the "buttons" - nothing stops you from using both. I have mapped every key I need to the XBOX controller, add in a stick and you're good to go. So many advantages, as perfect drone control, view control ect. - Currently giving X-Plane 12.10 a spin on Shadow PC. 10 years with X-Plane now, since 10.20
