That we have a pc version is good for us, but there are more people playing games on XBox/PS than there are people playing on pc’s. And that's why they... developed the sim on PC as it's lead platform, with nothing but an announcement that a console version will be coming "later"? If you're looking to sell million of copies of something to console players, you're not making MICROSOFT FLIGHT SIMULATOR in the first place. Your average Call of Duty player isn't looking to fiddle with trim settings or a G1000 for an hour, while they look out the window of a virtual airliner. Microsoft made MSFS so they could have a PC-centric franchise to push Game Pass subscriptions on PC. They also know that the long-term health of MSFS as an ongoing platform they can continue to invest in, relies on the ongoing engagement of actual flight simmers - not just using the sim, but buying new stuff in the marketplace that they will get a percentage cut from.

Not at all, I believe in what I'm saying, not arguing just to argue. I actually find the ortho and airports unbareable in some places. Flew out of Taiwan and it was neon green bad, unuseable. Aspen to Denver looked great however, especially with a little added snow. Some parts of Idaho look good, Seattle to Portland looks ok (most of it). There are some parts that look ok, but I am spoiled by 30-60cm photoscenery, and it's hard to go back to low res. A lot of people are just flying around certain cities or areas being enamored by the buildings, that's just not my thing. Sure, the high detailed cities look really good, but I'm more into scenery and mountains, and it falls short sad to say. August 24, 20205 yr It's what the best Sim looks like to a beginner simmer that doesn't have $5,000+ in addons and thousands of miles of custom corrected ortho and homemade trees created in Photoshop and Blender, and hasn't tried over 300 different addons. Edit: I will say Telluride looks great with some snow added to hide those rough looking mountains, doing the Telluride to Aspen flight, maybe the only flight I can bare at the moment. This is what I'm going to have to do from here on out, only fly certain places that look good, too many bad places too. August 24, 20205 yr No trolling, the screenshots speak for themselves. I do understand people being too lazy to deal with the headaches of third party addons, don't get me wrong, but even as Tony Wob pointed out himself (he made TE Washington BTW), there are plenty of issues, and they are even developing scenery for this. So don't act like I have some way out opinion here, it's not. I'm just being realistic and am not buying into the nostalgia of everything good, there is some good, as I have stated I believe I have a fairly balanced opinion. This game is VERY far from being able to fly anywhere to anywhere and look good (or even decent). It just isn't what some are claiming it to be. I always figured the XPlane trolls on the Microsoft Flight forums and on the Steam FSX:SE forum were getting XPlane related discounts for going into someone else's community and bashing their sim. I was very surprised to see XPlane and P3D peacefully coexisting here. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
August 24, 20205 yr It’s hard to go back to XP. Then you were flying it in Vanilla, considering the higher res photoscenery is even easier to see the VFR landmarks, plus there are many more correct landmarks in Xplane, especially if using addons like TE Great Britain. Dude, you're trolling. I give you a large break because this thread is also an example of trolling. But there's a certain sort of online persona which has trouble grasping the concept that 2 separate people can objectively view the same thing and have different opinions. On it's face, that's perfectly OK, but understand that I own XP and a couple ORBX TE regions, and that just didn't impress me like MSFS does. You are here because you feel someone has made fun of your toy and you want to hurt them back, or more likely you deep down actually understand that this sim means dire things to future XP development, at least from third parties. (Austin isn't going to shut it down, agreed) and this is sort of a desperate railing against the dying of the light. I get it. everybody understands what you are doing.
August 24, 20205 yr You are making personal accusations, and I don't take this personally, so that's on you, that's your issue, not mine. I am posting just to kill time and have some fun, not to throw personal accusations around (which is trolling - mr troll). Many people are trolling for MSFS, more than XP imo. This isn't a fan thread, if you want a fan thread then make one about how this is the greatest sim to ever be launched (there are plenty of those), but this in fact become more of a comparison thread. Not trolling since it's a comparison thread, duh... Edited August 24, 20205 yr by SceneryFX AMD 5800x | Nvidia 3080 (12gb) | 64gb ram
