Any plans for an FS2020 version?

Much as. I would like to accelerate the release itself I couldn’t fly without VR now (Total game changer) so will leave somebody else to offer a loan 🙂

There is a Comms panel, which is implemented into a standard msfs panel window, rather than how it was done in P3D. I don't use VR so can't tell you whether those msfs panels are visible in a VR environment, but if they work natively, so I would expect should Vox. If anyone wants to lend me a set of VR goggles I'll test for you 😛

TBH It sounds as if it will work.
The  CheckList, Weather and ATC panels for example are all able to be viewed through VR (HP G2 in my case) so here is hoping. Thanks for the info.

Hey Kevin. If it only works half as good as it used to in P3D and FSX im in 😀 I loved VoxATC and to this date I dont think I have used any of my addons as much as I did with Vox back in the day (good investment per dollar and hour spent 😀).

A few things I hope remain are voice recognition and that it caters for both VFR and IFR and that it still controls AI traffic as well as the possibility to tune radios manually. Hate ATC addons that brag about that their products do it automaticly and the copilot handles it. Well I fly single engine GA aircraft and I want to tune radios myself with my saitek radio panel or Realsimgear GNS430 thank you very much 😀

Yep, all there, and more..

Any news on a release date for MSFS? Instant buy.....

  • 2 weeks later...

One thing I wish would be implemented if possible..

When departing from a major airport with a very long runway in a single engine the ability to request an intersection instead of having to go all the way to the end and have the whole length to use, not needed.

Dave

Would be very interesting with a short video showing some features from VoxATC MSFS edition. Perhaps to early?

I agree, especially as there appears to be a competitor releasing videos which is looking very good, although to be fair has yet to showcase any VFR flights..

Intersection departures have been discussed..

I was going to do a couple, but there are so many features, where to start?  What do you want to see?

Not yet, a new feature has been discussed tonight, which if done right I think will be major enhancement, not sure if release might be delayed to incorporate it.

As much as you can show. Personally I almost only fly VFR so a short VFR flight in controlled airspace would be a good start if you ask me 😀

On another note will VoxATC use real world airspace boundaries. Default ATC still use the typical US five mile radius for tower class D airspace. In Europe a CTR may be much wider and haveva different shape. It always detracts from the immersion when the tower controller says that ”you are leaving my airspace” while in real life I am just five miles out.

In P3D, it most probably could if those airspaces defined in the scenery folders included comm's data &/or added such to the "zone".

It already reads Class A airspace data.

The developer was working on similar "sectorisation" by / for VoxATC before being distracted by the "challenges" of an MSFS version ...... which he may be porting over (but that's a guess on my part).

for now, cheers

How about a flight showcasing some VFR circuits to start...

Interesting question, it depends on data. Any ATC app can only work with the data it has at its disposal I'm afraid.

Previously with P3D there was fsAerodata that replaced and amended all airspace so it was correct, but that's been discontinued now and AFAIK isn't available for MSFS.

Many years ago before that, I built an excel spreadsheet which automatically parsed accurate UK airspace boundaries from the eAIP (https://nats-uk.ead-it.com/cms-nats/opencms/en/Publications/AIP/Current-AIRAC/html/index-en-GB.html) in XML, but I haven't updated it in a LOOOONG time.

Maybe it would be worthwhile fsAerodata providing info for MSFS now, would be really useful.

I have requested many times customisable airports for vox so that VFR reporting points etc can be properly used.  We'll have to see what the future holds.
