August 28, 20205 yr For those who have bought these from the Microsoft store built into MSFS, there is a delay, but they will both be updated on the 1st of September through the store. (I was wondering where my update was!) 😄 Lots of updates for both, for which you might find info somewhere on their forums (I lost the link and can't seem to find it again now 🤔), but the main ones are (For the Scenery) the original MSFS high quality buildings are back in (the Shard etc.), the Telecom tower is sized correctly, and I think they are trying to fix the water hills in the Thames with the help of Asobo, and they have improved the quality of some of their own buildings. (I wish they would change the 'HSBC' typeface to the correct one on Canary Wharf though - they don't use a 'Courier' typeface 🤣). On the airport, it says they are using the high definition mesh from Asobo/Microsoft, so hopefully that means the undulating runway is back in. It seems people are responding to complaints and feedback, which is inspiring considering we are still only into this by a few days (seems longer already 😏). All I know is I am really enjoying this ride we are on up to now! 👍 I am loving every minute of this sim, and I am excited like a little kid for the future development of it. August 28, 20205 yr Thank you for the update, I'll now go ahead and and purchase the landmarks package. I share your enthusiasm, it's a cracking sim🙂 787 captain. Previously 24 years on 747-400.Technical advisor on PMDG 747 legacy versions QOTS 1 , FS9 and Aerowinx PS1.
August 28, 20205 yr EGLC looks pretty good there!! Great job on that one. i9 11900K @ 5.3 RTX 3070TI 8GB 32 GB RAM @ 4200 GHZ 1 TB SSD 1080p G-Sync 27" Monitor
August 28, 20205 yr I just got the package through ORBX Central so I assume it is the updated package. I think it is excellent. I love flying around London and I was surprised at what was left out of the original. This package brings those extra things in beautifully, especially Buckingham Palace, for example. I also got London City airport, another really good package. Lee Lee H i9 13900KF 64GB Ram 24GB RTX 4090
August 28, 20205 yr It should also be noted that while the default msfs runway has undulations the actual real airport does not...
August 28, 20205 yr I hope they also improved the Scalpel and One Park Drive. The former was way too short and the latter looked nothing like the real thing. But great to see that they reacted that quickIy. Really looking forward to this one. Hello Shawn - as I put in my post, I was also disappointed about this, but they state that they have upgraded it to use the high definition mesh from Asobo/Microsoft, so hopefully that means the undulating runway is back in. I can't say for sure util I get the opportunity to check, but if they use the Asobo land mesh, then I would expect their runway to follow it. If not, they need to learn how to do this quickly, as it is a great part of the airport realism. Here's hoping! 👍 Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). The default MSFS undulation is wrong.
August 28, 20205 yr Indeed, I flew jets and turboprops into LCY for 5 years - and the runway is as flat as a pancake - or even a flight-deck as LCY used to be known as 'HMS London City' due to the ramp operation being vaguely akin to the frantic activity seen on a carrier.
August 28, 20205 yr This was a pack I was all set to buy originally until I heard of its issues. I'll wait until I've seen some feedback, but if it's fixed, I'll probably buy. August 28, 20205 yr It wasn’t as bad as some would have it on day one, unless you really get in the weeds with close ups. The night lighting was definitely too bright. I would say the overall response to it was not without merit, but completely over the top exaggerated. If you are flying you wouldn’t notice the issues.
August 29, 20205 yr So have they removed the American Palm beach airport Fire rescue tenders and added proper London city ones in their update of EGLC then?
