Climbing though overcast and breaking out on top

Featured Replies

Just set my weather to overcast and grabbed the TBM and was going to see how she looks when she breaks out on top...perhaps one of the most breath-taking moments in real flying, and MSFS didn't disappoint either!

When I broke through what I thought was the only overcast layer, the sim surprised me with another to go through (I didn't look at the cloud settings beforehand, just set it to "Overcast".)   This turned out to be fortunate as I got some great shots!

The lighting is the most realistic I've ever seen in a sim....love the light shafts between the layers....it was quite the sight

When I made it through the 2nd layer, and finally on top....you can see its not only stunning, but I picked up some ice.  Guys....the Ice Boots are animated!   It was probably mentioned as feature somewhere....but it blew me away when I watched them inflate and deflate!  They even cycle from the inners to the outers! (and yes, the ice light is on as you can see on the root of the wing....very cool)

Never, NEVER in all my years of simming have I ever experienced the things I am in this sim....

Get out of here! 😃  Are you using photoshop or something?

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

The visuals are stunning...some of the GA aircraft are pretty good...  it just needs some serious work with engines/wind/weather

That first pic is the best. At last a convincing overcast in a home sim.

Yes, this is where this sim really shines, hope they can make live weather work the same way.
