September 9, 20205 yr My controllers are as per my signature. Until today there have been no issues with the parking brake. Being set on Button #3 on the joystick. It still is working on that button, but there seems to be a conflict, in that when I release the parking brake and apply throttle, the revs build up, but no forward movement, until I release the parking brake again! This also happens when I am moving and require to stop e.g. for other traffic or a holding point. The controller settings have not changed either. This is immaterial of any type of aircraft being manoeuvred. Any thoughts would be most welcome ti identify this issue. September 9, 20205 yr Have you looked at the parking brake in the cockpit to see if it releases when you first push the button? Have you tried mapping it to a different button to see if what you have it mapped to now is intermittent? I had trim mapped to my joystick and keep wondering why it sometimes didn't work. Remapped it to my throttle and it works perfectly. Turns out the buttons I had mapped on my joystick sometimes don't work (time for some electronics surgery). James
September 10, 20205 yr Did you clear the CTRL + NUM DEL value for the keyboard shortcut after mapping "Toggle Parking Brake" to your 3 key on the joystick?
September 10, 20205 yr Author Thanks Phantoms and JKempo for responding! Started afresh this morning and there was nothing wrong, until... After a handful of flights, different planes, it returned to the issue!!! The keyboard toggle brake made no difference. All planes cockpit mechanisms are working correctly, too. Throttling up, full throttle also, the planes did not move unless again the parking brake was released again each time. Trim is OK and it is mapped differently to the default bindings for the warthog joystick. I have settings through FSUIPC7 for 1, 2 3 and 4 engines. The sames settings for FSX are fine too! I have yet to map it to a different button, as I need some time to ensure I wont have a conflict elsewhere. Will come back to you on this later today. September 10, 20205 yr Author Vineguy, has this happened within the past two days? September 11, 20205 yr Author I've now tried numerous aircraft, although the more I went through all the controllers, the more there is something strange going on behind the scenes! The parking brake being set, when it should not be, is not directly the fundamental cause of the problem it is the recipient of the problem. There is something else causing the parking brake to be applied. it is the only part of MSFS that is an issue for me and, of course, it is something that started in the last 3 days. September 11, 20205 yr Author Bert, I know and as Vineguy earlier mentioned he has this issue too. There must be other simmers with this issue, although they may not know and double press a parking brake button, etc to get the plane rolling! Martin Also, are you starting "cold" at parking or at the runway? At the runway, it is automatically engaged. I'll have to run through some scenarios myself.

When I have to stop to give way to other traffic or at a holding point or just a start and stop it automatically sets the parking brake and it has to be a double press of the button to release it. Martin weird. Never had this happen unless I was letting OTTO taxi. Is OTTO handling your radio comms? Maybe he's popping the brake? No, if he was popping it, you'd only have to set it once. How bizarre. Edited September 11, 20205 yr by wthomas33065
September 11, 20205 yr Author I have nothing set for a "third party" in the cockpit. September 11, 20205 yr I have this issue too. When I apply the brakes fully sometimes it seems to engage a phantom parking brake. The parking brake isn't actually on as I can see it hasn't been engaged but no amount of revs will move the plane unless I tap the parking brake on and off.
