September 11, 20205 yr Currently the Community folder is within MSFSPackages Folder. I have the boxed version of MSFS and there was no choice to install the dvd content elsewhere. I am sure all of us can see that there is a downside to the Community folder, in that everything made by others is placed there, thus the folder has many items in it. Overtime it will become unmanageable, as there is nothing to separate liveries, airplanes, airports, fixes and uncle tom cobley and all! Is it possible to say take the Community Folder out of that directory tree, in C drive and place it in D drive, where all my MSFS on-line content was installed? The other reason is that there is much more disc space on D:. September 11, 20205 yr Not that I know of, but I know ORBX creates shortcuts to their sceneries in there. Perhaps you can create another "community" directory on the D drive, and place the folders there, then create shortcuts to those folders and put those in the ACTUAL community directory. Shortcuts take almost no space at all.
September 11, 20205 yr Author What is the method for creating a shortcut? Also, can separate folders be created for liveries, aircraft and airports, etc? September 11, 20205 yr You can create symbolic links using the mklink command. To the application it will look like a normal folder.

Martin A shortcut will not do it.. It has to be a Symbolic Link. As for D drive vs C drive.. You can Move the entire MSFS App to the D drive. Windows Settings / Apps / MSFS / Move! Easy to do. Bert

September 11, 20205 yr Unless I'm missing something, not impossible, all you have to do is: Find the folder (this could take some hours!) Right click Select 'Send to Desktop(Create Shortcut) Et voila! Shortcut on desktop. You can the add or delete files straight from there. Simples. 🙂 The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA

Now you can find the folder easily. 🙂 Step 2 is figuring out if you want everything you collect/acquire in that folder, or if you would rather have some things somewhere else.. 😉 I think that combining Links and your own Naming conventions for those links... Like Airport xxxx and Aircraft xxxx etc may work until someone comes up with a management tool. Edited September 11, 20205 yr by Bert Pieke Bert
September 11, 20205 yr Author Ron, Sitting on the desktop, does that imply it is still on the C drive? My C and D are two different SSDs and I require it to sit on D for space. Martin Adrian, my head hurts at my age to understand the links. The page I have read through, but if I make a mistake can it be undone?
