September 27, 20205 yr Author Basically I've achieved what I wanted for my views system. I can't stand 'keep your head steady while looking at the instruments' approach so I mapped a button on my throttle that sends TIR recenter first then pause TIR commands in one go. Now to tune frequences for example I can press buttons on my throttle and joystick mapped to instruments camera views, then press that 'TIR Recenter & Pause' button and manipulate buttons and rotaries to my hearts delight while TIR panning is disabled. While the 'bug' twitching movement is minimal if any. Edited September 27, 20205 yr by Dirk98
September 27, 20205 yr With a good TIR profile it's fairly easy to use switches and knobs, for the most part anyway. I use the "Seth - Flight" profile from the TrackIR forums and I have set it as default. It's very nice. I've had thousands of them since TIR1 with all kinds of curves, and I used Seth's as a base for some of my own. Thanks. Edited September 27, 20205 yr by Dirk98
September 27, 20205 yr Author I really wonder how Vic Baron manipulates the cameras in MSFS2020 these days. Many years ago he gave me the idea.. Edited September 27, 20205 yr by Dirk98

Actually i still use a TIR3 with the track clip. never saw a great need to upgrade. I have however attached the old school track clip to the top of my headset. Using it with a baseball cap is stupid when your indoors with a headset on and a real PITA to keep aligned 😄

I downloaded Seth -Flight profile and put it in the TrackIR profiles folder but I just cannot get it to work. I had it working fine in P3D. Please write.

September 28, 20205 yr Thank you Sir. Did the trick. One other question; is there a way to get TrackIR to re-connect to MSFS after you've accidentally shut down TrackIR during a flight? Edited September 28, 20205 yr by Will Fly For Cheese

But how would you shut it down, just curious?
September 28, 20205 yr I shut it down as I was putting Seth's profile in the correct folder. See above 😉 I tried running the .exe again and it starts up but isn't working in MSFS. I'm approaching Rome - as we speak - and could do with it working to see all that lovely photogrammetry! Edited September 28, 20205 yr by Will Fly For Cheese

If you shutdown and restart TrackIR without resarting MSFS it starts head tracking in the app but fails to recognise MSFS is running so you can get head tracking in the TrackIR app but not in the game till you restart MSFS.

Yep, that's defo what's going on. Oh well, old school static head in to Rome it is.
September 28, 20205 yr I'll fly straight in to LIRF then send the drone up to do the sight-seeing. What a marvellous sim this is.
September 28, 20205 yr Try to ESC pause to the main menu, then start TrackIR and go back to your flight. Sometimes that works when I forgot to start it before my flight. James
September 28, 20205 yr Thanks for the help. LIRF is pretty boring with just long slabs of terminals but Rome looks amazing with photogrammetry. It seemed to load faster than other areas I've been to. A quick coffee and a pastry and then it's off to Naples in the King Air (Auto Pilot permitting!) for some ice cream. Hoping to get to Brindisi some time this evening.
