October 7, 20205 yr I get an unzip error when I point it to my Community folder. Works great if I point it to any other temporary location ... then I simply copy/replace. I suspect the error is because the Community folder is protected (it's an MS Store install). Adam.
October 7, 20205 yr Question: Is that cool FlyByWire livery supposed to install too? I can never find it.. Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory. The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire. To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune. There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you. It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.

Not true, the Community folder is not protected at all. Most likely if you did not select your own install folder then the default install folder is so far down the folder tree that the folder path is too long for the flybywire installer to cope with. I too have the MS Store version but installed it to c:\msfs and have no problems with the flybywire installer.

The core sim files remain completely untouched by anything placed in the community folder. However, simply put, any files in the community folder are used instead of the core sim files. The Community folder is completely open. CJ

The Community folder is completely open. OK - I'll buy that (many thanks)! In that case, my problem must be that idiotically long folder name that MS Store creates under WpSystem. Before installing (on a clean SSD) I changed the default location of MS Apps to that drive, but was totally unaware that MS Store would create such a mess of it. Adam.

They can do a complete global simulator like ASOBO? the reason there are comments like this is because MS most likely forced poor ASOBO to release the simulator at least 6 months too soon. If not more. The ongoing bugs and performance of the airliners in particular are just beyond anything I've ever experienced. I mean, several updates later and the instruments still go black during final approach and ironically - come back after you've landed. It is so bad and downright dangerous that it almost feels intentional...like "don't fly this plane. Just don't because we're not gonna bother fixing it. Wait for payware" Of course, the simulator itself and scenery is jawdropping. Like art. It's just that tiiiny little detail like...being able to actually fly the airliners without hitting ESC and Quit to Desktop in anger and say "That's it, I'm done..."

Just to check on the instruments going black - have you fuel left? I have had them go black but only when I am out of fuel, not surprsing as nothing left to power them. It is also at the end of a v long flight - I have had it happpen 2nm from the runway. The bugs that are happening are pretty normal at this staage of release of most games, especially the more complex ones. CJ
