Above Dubai

Featured Replies

Just some two months on the market and it is amazing, how many freeware talents have already come up with various scenery enhancements to make MSFS even more beautiful. This is also true for Dubai, which is now vastly more realistic looking than out of the box.

Arabians prefer for a city tour usually a fancy helicopter that comes equipped with everything the market has to offer. A mere C 172 would never do. As we don’t have helis yet in the sim, I offered them an equally stylishly equipped Citation. We take off from a small airport west of Dubai.

We turn north-east towards The Palm Jumeira. The small airport in front of the plane is mostly used by skydivers

And the famous Atlantis

A couple of years ago I met at the hotel its German GM. He said to me that the Atlantis is a very religious hotel. Why, I asked. His answer: when guests come for the first time into the huge hotel lobby, they look around, look up to the ceiling, a couple of floors above them and say: Oh my God!. And when they check out a few days later and see their bill, they say: J e s u s Christ 😀

The Atlantis claims to be the most iconic resort in Dubai, but I think, this honor belongs to this one

Right below the Citation is the public Zabeel Park and that strange looking frame is really that, a frame. Rising 150 metres above Zabeel Park, encrusted with swirling golden motifs that glisten in the desert sunshine, the “Dubai Frame” has been described by a British newspaper as "the biggest picture frame on the planet.

Any attempt to stretch fuel is guaranteed to increase headwinds

My specs: AMD Radeon RX6700XT, AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, 32GB RAM, 34" monitor, screen resolution: 2560x1080

As this is a sim, someone should fly through the picture frame...

In interior Elvis would love (for anyone who's seen Graceland).

Impressive. Thanks for the tour.

Great-looking and very informative pictures, Bernd...!!

My only transit via Dubai airport was marked by an unfortunate incidence, a young member of the family, getting lost, for an hour or so, in the interiors of that humongous airport (hard to believe how big it's inside...), but, it all ended well, thanks to a (Dubai local) elderly lady traveler, to whom, I'll ever be grateful,...(so I recall the airport well)...

Anyway, never would have got to see anything outside the terminal, of the city,...so, yours, these (community-enhanced-scenery) screenshots, here, from MSFS, feel wonderful. Thanks...!!
