Aermacchi MB-339 Pitch Stability Issue

Featured Replies

Agreed on the loudness, with my regular sound settings even with the headset mode set I still couldn’t hear ATC without having to turn the volume up loud enough that the engine sounds were too loud.

Overall I really enjoyed my first flights in it tonight.  Nice and fast, great views out of the canopy and overall a really good experience.  It’s something different that is great for blasting through canyons and doing some high speed tree top flying.  No terrain blurries for me even at 300 knots and 100 feet.

The first thing I noticed was the pitch issue.  It kind of does a double take when it alters pitch.  I have also seen it wobbling a bit on its own as well.  Like fish-tailing but in the vertical axis.

If he fixed this and the noise, which should reduce when the canopy is closed, then I would be fairly happy with it.

Also, when using the alternative model with the tip tanks, my wheels were sunk into the ground - not sure if I burst all my tyres! 😄

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

My issue was that BING was disabled by MSFS. I did not do it. It was as if I was back on default FSX. Hideous! 😀

Thanks for confirming. Dino says that he is unable to replicate it.

I also asked him if he could reduce the engine sounds when canopy is closed.

Let's hope for a quick fix.

Tried unsuccessfully. I'm assuming that it's because is based on default FD.

SDK issue.

I've just tried the Carenado 182 and the Asobo G36. Both of which stalled in a very convincing manner. The C182 dropped it's port wing and the G36 eventually gave up the struggle and tried both wings.

So SDK excuse doesn't hold up. What is the default FD? Does it apply to all Asobo's planes? I ask because I'm puzzled. I'll go try a C152, I don't think anyone has played about with that so it ought to be a default FD

Dino asked me to try a keyboard, so I decided to go into the closet and pull out my 10 year Cyborg X and I couldn't believe that it works. No issues with any of the axis. Incredible!

Let me ask Dino to explain further.

Just back from trying the C152 Ordinaire...Does what it should. And the Zliin (Yellow one) That one tries very hard NOT to kill you but it obliged in the end.

I wonder if this is supposed to be some sort of mach buffeting or high-G buffet?  One of the reviewers thought that this was a possibility of this type of yaw-ing/pitching type behavior at high-G's.  Do you think maybe that is an intentional behavior?   I don't know, I am not that familiar with how these types of jets actually fly in the real world, but I figure Dino is or someone here might be.

That would be great!  Thanks for asking on everyone's behalf.

Ron,

His response was "for one the stall warning sound is not functional just yet 😉"

I guess it's a WIP.

I have not tried to stall it.  I will though.  All I've had time to do is take it around the Mach Loop in Wales a couple of times.

Your paints on Pants-on-Fire.  Oh wait.  Your sig says "MediaFire".  Speaking of repaints, I wonder if there will be (or is?) a paint kit for this aircraft?  Can you imagine the Frecce Tricolori paintjob on RED instead of the blue?  Or black, with a (red) welsh dragon on the side?

If there will be/or is a paint kit I won't be the one to use it. MSFS paints are impossible for me to do. In fact a complete nightmare. Shame.

It's not the stall warning sound that is the issue. It's the fact that it won't stall! Such a glowing review video too.

Presumably there will be an update any time soon

I perfectly trimmed airplane for a straight and level flight, but pitch attitude is negative. Is that normal?
