October 27, 20205 yr The long awaited SEP 23 update for those who own Key West (KEYW) is available after 4 weeks, from FSDT. . Edited October 27, 20205 yr by Eclex Dave Swigert WIN 11 i9-14900KF 64 GB ram Viewsonic 32" 60Hz 2K monitor NVIDIA MSI RTX 4080S Asrock Z790
October 27, 20205 yr Just clarification.... the update was long available from FSDT... it's only now available on MSFSMP. One of the reasons I like purchasing directly from a developer... the other being that they get all the dosh... and don't have to pay MS a cut. The counterpoint is that if everything was through MSFSMP and it actually was clear and functional, then there would be a single point solution. The search for the Holy Grail continues... C yeah I bought it from FSDT for just those reasons, but I believe you do need to occasionally remember to run there update app, it does not run automatically AFAIK . I probably should put all my FS updaters into win10 start-up. Edited October 27, 20205 yr by Glenn Fitzpatrick
October 27, 20205 yr Glenn- I'm not sure that's the right option... I just have a series of updaters that I run weekly for P3D, and now a series for MSFS.... I was hoping that this sim would obviate that need- alas no. @virtuali's solution atm, across platforms, seems the most elegant- one press and you're done across all platforms. Hopefully others will take a page out of his playbook... C Edited October 27, 20205 yr by cavaricooper Best- Carl Avari-Cooper

C ah ok, I might just put them in one folder and right a CMD script that does a cd to that folder then runs a command line "start" on each app. That way I can either run them all at once with a single shortcut or even schedule them to fire up once a week (though that will probably be more annoying rather than useful) .

I willingly will be buying my future sceneries through the marketplace so I can have a centralized place to update all my sceneries. I'm willing to wait a couple of weeks for any updates just for the convenience of managing them through marketplace.

I am curious as to whether they update automatically or you still need to go into content manager and do it individually. If you have more than one scenery from a developer and need to update each individually it could get to be hard work.

It would be nice though.

You still have to do it manually, but it automatically tells you there's an update available, so you simply checkbox the scenery and click the update button. pretty simple.

OK ... so if you have a lot of updates (like 10 or more airports and planes) from the same supplier or maybe someone from like orbx who offer stuff from multiple suppliers you might be better buying direct - but if you have a mish mash of stuff from all over the place the marketplace might work better.

MS needs to be faster with releasing these updates on the marketplace unless they want convince people to buy outside their marketplace (w/ loss of equivalent revenue for MS) Not sure this is relevant to them.. after all.. I assume (yeah I know.. I have no actual knowledge) that Marketplace is more for the XBox players.. I think it unlikely tht XBox users will have the ability to go direct to the supplier, so I really dont think the PC User is the real marketplace solution. I actually believe the marketplace is mostly for Xbox as otherwise Xbox would have no options for add-ons and as such a flight sim would be a serious failure as we all know that flight sims are the basics.. and the specialist stuff is all 3PD, which is why I think theres a huge push to get freeware onto the Marketplace before the XBox version launches. Graham System specs... CPU AMD5950, GPU AMD6900XT, ROG crosshair VIII Hero motherboard, Corsair 64 gig LPX 3600 mem, Air cooling on GPU, Kraken x pump cooling on CPU. October 28, 20205 yr The marketplace is so far disappointing mainly because they are so slow to not only put products on there in the first place but more importantly to update existing products such as Key West. When you buy a product and find out it has issues which are then fixed in good time by the developer with new features added but to which you, the consumer, can't access for a month after everyone else who purchased outside of the marketplace, it kind of takes the pleasure and good away. Generally we buy airport addons for the details and because we are picky and love details. Having people floating in the air for 4 weeks (and not being able to access the new scenery and fixes) kind of ruins the sense of satisfaction and return on investment. I am not sure I will bother purchasing anything else on the marketplace certainly if it is new as we can be sure in most cases updates will be required and we will always be left waiting. First world problems but at the end of the day it's our cash and it's poor customer service.
