November 3, 20205 yr This year, mostly due to the pandemic but also partially due to the advent of MSF 2020, I am on course to log over 400 hours. That will be more than any year since my days with Sunair VA and subLogic's Flight Assignment ATP back in the 1990's, when I routinely logged 400 ~ 500 hours a year flying twice weekly VA routes, once from KPLH to KSTL and back, and once back and forth from KIND and KMSY. My flying since then for over 10 years in the late '90s up until 2010 was limited by my business career. Since retirement in late 2010 it has mostly been flying to and from events on my favorite sports team's schedules. NFL and college football; MLB baseball (White Sox); college soccer and baseball; college basketball; NHL hockey (St Louis Blues); Nascar and Indycar auto racing (and a couple of F1 races in north America). All in real time with real weather, rain or shine. One would believe the pandemic hours of staying in would allow greater flexibility in flight schedules. But my yearly sports schedules this year have been severely affected by the pandemic. And all but pro and college football are quickly drawing to an end. No more F1 races in North America. College baseball and relevant collegiate soccer never happened. NHL is done. Indycar is done. Nascar season ends this coming weekend in Arizona. All I see left at this point are my Baltimore Raven's NFL games, and my Indiana Hoosiers college football games. Both games this weekend are in Indiana. I flew there yesterday. Perhaps this is fittingly the time for MFS 2020 and relaxed flying. $100 hamburger weekend and mid-day runs, and $100 early morning and weekend pancake breakfast runs. Shooting for 400 hours, but do not want to gain too much "pandemic era" weight. Perhaps some suggestions for runs to crab, lobster, shrimp, BBQ, whatever. Bring it on! I live in Maryland on the east side of the Chesapeake Bay. I also have a place and base out of Bloomington, Indiana. Open to any suggestions. Enhanced MFS 2020 airports preferred if within reasonable distance for hamburgers or pancakes. I'm buying, Food, not fuel.... November 3, 20205 yr Well it should be snow season where you guys are. No idea with corvid which ski resorts are actually open of course.
November 3, 20205 yr I am flying the add-on: Central and Northern Idaho Bush Pilot. The paid version ($10) integrates into the MSFS front page menu 'Activities' and will issue the regular MSFS activity achievement certificate if you don't ever even once use the red find your line cheat. https://msfsbushtrips.com/idaho-bush-trip-for-microsoft-flight-simulator-2020/ 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. November 3, 20205 yr If it shall be in North America the I can only recommend kelowna in Canada or Ketchikan/ AL. There is scenery available for those two airports at MS marketplace. Else, Norway fjords, the Alps or Island hopping in the Caribbean are fun Phil Leaven i5 10600KF, 32 GB 3200 RAM, ASUS 4070 12GB EVO, Asus ROG Z490-H, 2 WD Black NVME for each Win11 (500GB) and MSFS (1TB), Rolling Cache 16GB, Photogrammetry always OFF, Live Weather and Live Traffic always ON, Res 2560x1440 on 27"

If you ever want to do some virtual overseas tourism, leasing a Caravan and doing a VFR tour of remote villages in New Guinea can also be fun. Edited November 3, 20205 yr by Glenn Fitzpatrick
November 3, 20205 yr KEYW is a great starting point, got Orbx scenery and love it. And yes, Caribbean always a great place . Still remember that CDROM addon MS sold me many years ago for a previous FS version I cannot even remember anymore 😉 Phil Leaven i5 10600KF, 32 GB 3200 RAM, ASUS 4070 12GB EVO, Asus ROG Z490-H, 2 WD Black NVME for each Win11 (500GB) and MSFS (1TB), Rolling Cache 16GB, Photogrammetry always OFF, Live Weather and Live Traffic always ON, Res 2560x1440 on 27"

Not much snow in eastern Maryland. Nestled between the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. Significant snow during winter perhaps on occasion one year of ten. Same with adjacent Delaware and points south into Virginia and the Carolinas. Else, Norway fjords, the Alps or Island hopping in the Caribbean are fun My vintage 1969 MGB British roadster came to me from Kelowna back in late 2004. Was an original California car who's 2nd owner, a Canadian from Kelowna, was a software engineer working in California for several years. When he returned home he could not find affordable covered storage, and British sports cars of that era did not survive if left outside in that climate. At the time I lived in Orange County, Calif. and brought the car home. I keep it garaged year round here no2 3,000+ miles away in Maryland, on the opposite USA coast. So.. East coast. Lobster. Blue crabs. Flounder and Rockfish. Shrimp. Oysters. Oh, and hamburgers and pancakes. Planning on the MFS C208 this year. Have usually started off in FSX in Indianapolis in a Carenado P46, flying to Denver to pick up friends. Then to Kansas City for more friends. Then back to Indianapolis for two more. From there to Ft Myers, where I load a C208 Cargomaster up with yet another two friends and head from Mt Myers first to the Cayman Islands, then on to Jamaica, and on to Puerto Rico and the West Indies. Some years I hit the east coast of Mexico instead. This year may well depend on new sceneries that emerge for MSF 2020. November 4, 20205 yr Hmm, the pilot in the Tapini video hit the trees on short final. Or certainly got some oak leaf clusters with swords and diamonds on the gear. If you're looking for a place to fly, I'd head down to Central America. Always interesting. I'm not sure if the next update will enhance that scenery or not, but MGGT with it's volcanoes is always a fun approach from the south/southwest. Except when obscured by cloud. November 4, 20205 yr Some nice airports to hit around my area: KBKL - Cleveland/Burke Lakefront - neat airport on the lake that reminds me of Meigs a lot. Scenery for downtown Cleveland looks really good. KLKP - Lake Placid, NY - Great visuals around the Adirondack Mountains (assuming the weather is nice) Other flights not near me: KAVX - KVNY - in Southern California. There's a great Avalon freeware scenery for KAVX and default KVNY (Van Nuys) is really neat to fly into. if the weather around my area isn't good for flying, I definitely head either to SoCal or the Caribbean. ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
