I'm not sure what I bought, now I see 7 diff products on simmarket. a while back I bought something, it had two downloads, a ( part a zip file) and a (part b zip file) Now I just checked and it's only 1 file Bijan_Season_Pack.zip . It's the 4 Season pack + tree lod for MSFS.  I guess I'll keep what i've got. Trees seem taller but thats another subject.

Please use the latest one as it has many updates. I updates files regularly with improvements. Download the single file that has 4 seasons.

The trees should be normal size. It's all controlled from the files included so no 3rd party mod is needed.

Most large trees have been removed. If you see any that need adjustment, just let me know and I fix it.

Is there any user control over tree color saturation?
Some of the colors looked a bit too saturated to me in your videos.

This is a personal preferences. Some prefer more vivid colors and some don't. Some say add more colors to fall and some say less. Some say make trees larger and some say make them smaller.  This is all customizable it's hard to explain what ot change it  to since there is guideline or tutorials.. If you need something changed, just let me know and I make the changes for you.

Hi David,

Yes, you can use addon linker. After you add it, you need to restart your sim first. Anytime you change a season, the sim must be restarted.

This doesn't work like that. Not by changing dates in your computer or the sim setting. It won't change seasons by changing the season in the setting. This was never claimed to do with my app.

The auto season works if you ticked the checkbox in the app, it will install winter and on March 21st, it will change to spring. Yes the app must be running.

Hi Bijan,

I know this may sound like I'm being picky or even aggressive, but I'm not. I'm just trying to understand precisely how this works.

In your reply to me (2nd box above) you've made contradictory statements. You say that changing dates in the sim setting won't change the seasons, and then your second says that it would change to spring on March 21st.

Your later reply to David (1st above) then states that the sim must be restarted "anytime you change a season". So how does auto season work if that is true?

So I still have my original questions. In essence - is there any form of dynamic change built in to your product or do I have to shut down and restart the sim for a change of season to occur. And if a sim restart is required to change the season (as you've stated above), how does "auto season" function?

cheers,

Andy

Hi Andy,

I have a feeling that English is not Bijan's native language. I hope I don't step on his toes with the following.

First, any change to anything in the Community folder requires the sim to be shut down and restarted.

Second, the "auto season" thing is relying on the computers system date. When it hits a certain date, Bijan's program removes the current season and installs the next season. One would then start the sim and see the new season. Changing the date inside the sim will have no effect. Bijan's auto season program is just a convenient way to automatically change the currently installed season based on the real world calendar (before starting the sim). One can do the same manually.

Hope this helps,

...jim

To me it goes this way as far as changing seasons - you can use addon linker to change seasons if you prefer, just put all the seasons into linker and activate the one you want. Or, Skip adding to addonlinker and when you are at the date of season change run Bijan's program and let that change the season textures itself, either way you have to restart sim after texture change made in the Community folder.

I am considering to buy it but there's one question i have:

(How) is this addon working together with the ingame snowcoverage mechanism? For example when i install the winter season is the whole world covered in snow or is it still using the realtime snow coverage?

Or would it be for my region which is Europe more "real" to install fall season and use real world snow?

Best regards,

Tom

I apologize if I weren't clear. As Jim mentioned, English is not my native language so I may have confused you. everything I mentioned is still true:

  1. You cannot change the season by going to sim setting in weather setting season. That will not change the seasons I made.
  2. Yes, Sim must be restarted after every change you do with every mod.
  3. As mentioned earlier above:  Copy and paste from above:  The auto season works if you ticked the checkbox in the app, it will install winter and on March 21st, it will change to spring. Yes, the app must be running.

Hi Tom,

The winter season does not place any snow. It will still work with realtime snow coverage and live weather, or manually add snow in weather setting.

The winter season, mainly turn most trees and bushes into brownish to dull green colors. Plus a new tree that has been added with less leaves and more branches that looks better with snow on.

You can use fall season too for winter. It depends on your region. Here in Los Angeles, we still have fall colors on trees.

@BijanStudio, @JimBrown, @jimcarrel

thank you all for your responses.

I spent this morning here playing with all this and had come to essentially the correct conclusion - this is not a dynamic environment. I had hoped that it might be that the sim would at least accept a new environment when restarting a flight, but it does seem to need a complete shutdown/restart to effect a season change. Althought the season changer app can be made to change the season file in the community folder while the sim is running, the sim ignores the change. I'd also tested that the auto-season is unaffected by sim-time. Whether this is all just an absolute condition of the sim environment or the way the changer has been coded I've no idea.

Bijan, I'd also assumed that English might not be your native language, but I can most definitely assure you that your English is a thousand times better than my whatever-your-native-language-is! (I'm a typical Brit, we figure if we just keep talking English louder and louder eventually the other person will understand <grin>). And like I've said in my previous posts, I'm not meaning to be aggressive here, but I would like to suggest that the product description makes the functionality completely clear - that any changes require a sim restart. I also think that the Auto-Season function should be explicitly described. To be honest, to me the auto-season function appears not very useful. If you feel it's a worthwhile feature to include, I would suggest it just be a permanently active function, that is to say that your season changer will always load the correct "real" season unless another season is chosen explicitly or the "original colours" option taken.

I like the tree effects I've seen so far in my experiments, but the product doesn't fully do what I expected it to - I assumed it would be more dynamic. Sim restarts are tiresome. But I bought it, and now I know how it actually works I'll use it or not according to my needs.

I'll leave you in peace now!

cheers,

Andy

I installed auto season, have southern hemisphere selected, live in South Africa, but it auto installed winter. it is summer here, any suggestions?

In Global SeasonsFS BijanStudio it says : 'Your current season is Summer'
