  • Together with Knud, Kai we are progressing towards the first live marine traffic version... Today was test day for new models - in particular the two new giant DFDS ferries Luna Seaways and Aura

I have been asked in another thread whether I could do something about the missing traffic on the Great Lakes. As those of you following the project since P3D and FSX knows - it used to have traffic on the Great Lakes and the ships are still there, just submerged at the bottom of the lake due to a bug in MSFS.

There is a workaround... It won't take much time if you can accept that it is still just P3D carry overs with the issues that creates... stutters for some at first sight, no wakes,,, I don't want to make a real Great Lakes MSFS converted package as long as I don't know if Asobo corrects the bug tomorrow, but a small Great Lakes package with P3D carry overs can be done in a matter of hours once I am in Denmark and have access to my source files.

So let me know if there is interest to bring the Great Lakes ships back to the surface 😄

There sure is... hundred to thousands of flight simmers live around the Great Lakes!  Thank you for even considering this!

I had actually added new models related to the Great Lakes before launching in March...

The Kathy Lynn is one of them - a tug built during WWII but still going strong. Today in Detroit:

Henrik, would it be viewed as disrespectful, if you brought the Edmund Fitzgerald up from the bottom to sail the Great Lakes once more? What do you think? It would be a great memorial to a foundered ship, and this model look great! Thank you for all of this...your time, your efforts, your devotion. Thank you!  Would love to see the E.F. sail in P3D v5.2HF1 as well as MSFS!

The Edmund Fitzgerald is there somewhere in the project - Jean-Pierre Fillion modelled her way back in time. Her sister ships are also included so let me look at it, when I am back.

"WOW...wonderful to read!!!!   Where do you think the E.F. would spawn?  On mostly Lake Superior?  Great news...and nostalgia. Do you think he wrote routes for White Fish Bay, or around there?  Easy to fly to...."

So, this is for FSX and P3D, right?

I did the routes so I need to check - now you mention P3D and a very classic ship - did you ever check the Classic Ship Package we uploaded in January - it is only FSX/P3D for the moment.

;D It is not global... so check the documentation on where to see the ships, but it has some nice old stuff. I really enjoy the ship design of that time.

Sir,

will there be landable helipads on some ships?

Not immediately, as it doesn't seem to be enabled for simobjects by Asobo yet, but it looks like this should be possible from November, and this native package will be easier to update on an ongoing basis.
