Devils Tower is a joke ! Isn't it ?

Everything is in the title. Try to fly and find it as VRF point !!

It's there, but you have to be practically on top of it to first see it. A mistake was made in visibility setting apparently. If you add (or keep) the Devil's Tower mod, it blends with the MS model well enough to use both and you'll see it from afar. 😊 Then, hopefully this will be corrected in a future update. I think there are some other new POI's that have this same issue. Afraid some programmer was asleep at the wheel on this, unfortunately.

Gotta wonder how freeware modder's seem to get most things right, when they are literally poking in the dark trying to figure out how to add their scenery.

Then you have Asobo devs, who should KNOW how to get everything right, and it seems hit and miss sometimes. 🤔

Make no mistake....overall I am having a love affair with the sim on a daily basis, and it is a pure joy in my life.  However, even though Asobo is responsible for modeling the whole world, the "Update it by region" is a fantastic idea, but you'd also hope that the landmark...err...landmarks would at least go thru a QA process before release.

I have the freeware Devil's Tower mod and I was literally getting ready to erase it, along with several other freeware US landmark mods....now I won't do that until I've flown to them myself and actually looked at them.  Again...KUDOS to AS for the work they've done....the updates to KATL and KDFW alone were worth it for me (and of course they are free so I'm not complaining at all, as it were....but would hope they fly around the areas they are updating just once to check it out before signing off on it). 🙂

Speaking of updates...Asobo's Monument Valley was indeed a welcome addition to the world scenery...however, again, a freeware modder just updated his existing scenery of that area to version 3.0...and well...let the pics speak for themselves in the link to my screenshot tribute below:

I think this sim will evolve to a point where the world will be overall, quite beautiful out of the box by Asobo, but if you want not only beautiful, but jaw-dropping, life-changing, stupendous, phenomenal, outstanding, stunning additions to what is already there, you supplement your simming experience with the great work of our freeware (and payware) modders. 🙂

Love where the hobby is going!!

Well... it's all just mashed-potato to me anyway.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

I'm way past mashed potatoes....currently dumping hundreds of pounds of dirt in my living room and stealing chicken wire from neighbors!

I'll meet you at the 'tower when we both see it on the news and make the connection. 😉   (great movie BTW...well, what movie with Teri Garr is not a great movie?)

I believe there is an issue in the sim in rendering height of some objects.  We saw unusually tall structures in the early days, and some buildings at one of my frequented airports, KBMG, that should represent t-hangars are perhaps 3 to 4 stories tall.  Very unusual.  Also, I have downloaded and added to my Community folder some freeware scenery landmarks for lighthouses in New Jersey.  They look pretty normal at perhaps 500 ft agl, but at 1,000 ft or 1,500 ft they are very difficult to spot.  Not normal.  I believe it is a rendering issue.

The ET's gave us cloaking technology when they landed there and appointed Roy Neary as human embassador.  I see we've also employed that cloaking technology successfully to cloak El Capitan, Half Dome, Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse Monument as well.

"Roy: There's a box canyon on the other side with ravines and trails if you take this incline to the right!
Gillian: I never imagined that in my paintings. I only painted one side.
Larry: There was no canyon in the doodles that I made.
Roy: Next time, try sculpturing"
